Wow my favourites are dropping like flies. I'll vote Bride of Chaotica! as I never have that much fun watching the episode.

Eliminating Dark Frontier II.

Dark Frontier is the episode that made the Borg Queen a big part of Voyager. That was a huge mistake, as she's just a poorly written character who turns terrifying space zombies into a stock B movie villain. An individual with emotions and motives rather than a force of nature. Not only that the scripting of the episode is sloppy, what exactly was she hoping to achieve by leaving Seven an individual? Makes no sense.

I think Dark Frontier was executed nicely, but to thoroughly enjoy it you have to switch your brain off in places.

 

[Farscape One]

Eliminating "DARK FRONTIER Part I". It is difficult to retcon the Hansens knowing about the Borg in this way so long before Picard's first encounter.

Awwww, I was hoping to get to put the bullet in Timeless -- why anyone ever imagined a Chakotay/Harry pairing was a good idea, I'll ever know. They're the 2nd & 3rd worst characters/actors in the history of the franchise! Only Anthony Montgomery manages to be worse!

I'll get rid of Counterpoint -- a good episode, but it's just the least special of what is remaining.

"SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME" now has no one to watch over it. A nice episode, but I feel it is the weakest of the remaining ones.

Think I might stop playing this game it's too depressing, lol. All my favourites are getting ditched and trashed at the same time. SO my last entry will be Nothing Human. By the way in defence of Chakotay and Harry they made for an odd couple in Timeless but I think it was one of Garret's best efforts. The crashing of Voyager was icily beautiful. Really stopping myself from citing some worse characters in the franchise Yar know what I mean?

Infinite Regress for me next. Good enough episode really but I wouldn't call it top 3 of the season.

I'm actually not a huge fan of either episode but I'm tired of the borg at this point and the way the drone came into existence is hard to believe even for Star Trek.

Geez, I really have no sense of when my eliminations are going to be controversial. For this one it was an immediate reaction of "Oh, obviously Counterpoint is next up to go" -- I did prefer the others on the list, but I also thought I was making the obvious cut that most would have done at that point of the game, moving things along. Guess I was off on that one!

That happens to me all the time. That's my complaint about "Night" -- just too soon to go back to that same story setup again.

It's a title thing with me too. Like I also think 'One' is the episode 'Drone' as well, and whilst on the subject of 'Drone' I thought for ages the actor playing him was Niles from Frasier

Oh, I know, I just found it interesting, I had thought I was aware which were the widely loved episodes. I searched for the old "Least Disliked Episode" threads and was surprised/amused to see that Counterpoint was 3rd-favorite of the series last time! I want to rewatch it with fresh eyes and see if it grabs me more powerfully -- I always saw it as a perfectly good "here's this weeks aliens" episode, but it didn't particularly jump out at me beyond that.

I want to rewatch it with fresh eyes and see if it grabs me more powerfully -- I always saw it as a perfectly good "here's this weeks aliens" episode, but it didn't particularly jump out at me beyond that.

Well, I would be curious on your opinion when you rewatch it. For me, there are 3 reasons why it hit the proverbial nail on the head and the 3 are interconnected (which further enhanced my viewing since it fell into line with the whole theme/vibe of the ep):
1. I loved the twisty, psychological games between Kashyk and Janeway, This allowed Janeway to really show off her strongest personality points imho (e.g. her cleverness, tenacity, and ability to forecast and out-think her opponent).
2. the chemistry between Janeway and Kashyk was by far (again imo) the best of the series... and this chemistry resulted, in part, from the psyche games being played between the two.
3. Mark Harelik was the bomb as Kashyk. He really played the role to its utmost finest. The one regret I have is that he was not brought back as a recurring character...
