The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DISCO Final Rounds

Eliminating "People of Earth". (I imagine this is what the MARS ATTACKS aliens were saying to each other when they detected humans...) Honestly, neither season 3 episode deserves to win, so since it's closest to getting the axe, it goes.


Which means my vote for this round will be "That Hope is You, Part I".

Same reason as I took out "People of Earth".

OK, I finally figured out which one of these I think is slightly better than the other two. They're all so good!

I'll give a point to "Coming Home." It's incredible. The black mark against it is Saru's ability to translate Rillak's long, ridiculous emotional speech to the 10-C, a few hours after they were working out the most basic concepts in their communication attempt.

These are good episodes but I’ll vote against the S3 premiere. The other two are more quintessential DISCO.

I begrudging vote for "That Hope Is You" as it is overall the weakest episode remaining. Unfortunately this means losing one of my favorite Discovery moments: Sahil's commission and the raising of the flag.

I'll eliminate The Hope Is You 1, same reasons as before.

Now my final vote.

S4 was the first season of Discovery to stick the landing in Coming Home.

That said, I loved the scenes of the crew trying to communicate with Species Ten-C, and loved how alien they really were. It was possibly the most Star Trek the series got.

Both of these are the only episodes of the series that deserve to win, so I woud be happy if either won.

I love "Species 10-C" a lot because of the crew trying to figure out the language, but "Coming Home" is the only season finale where DISCO actually stuck the landing. And from a mediocre and meandering season, to boot. That is such a hard thing to do, I didn't think DISCO was capable of it by this point of the show, particuarly with how slow the season was.

So because "Coming Home" did the impossible, I feel it's worthy of winning this game. "Species Ten-C", though reluctantly, gets my final vote.

I'll vote for "Coming Home." It has some small flaws - Rillak's overwritten speech, too many death cop-outs (let General Ndoye die at least! they built perfectly to her dying!).

But "Species Ten-C" is flawless.

Of course, if it were up to me, the final 3 would've come down to Face the Strange, Species Ten-C, and If Memory Serves.

Probably my favourite, but it would have played better as 10 episodes.

Season 4 would have been better if it was, at most, 6 episodes. Should have done the ENT season 4 format... tell a story, move on to another. Easily can shave off 5 or 6 episodes with all the meandering there was in DISCO season 4.

Which is why it's the 3rd best season for me. (Would have made best or second if the season wasn't such a slog to get through... the final two episodes really made up a LOT for it.)
