The Least Disliked Episode 2023: DS9 Season 7

I'm doing away with "Tacking Into the Wind". I liked Gowron, and this episode pretty much assassinated his character. And having Worf challenge him, defeat him, and then install someone else as Chancellor didn't seem very Klingon to me.

That which remains...
Treachery, Faith, and the Great River
Once More Unto the Breach
It's Only a Paper Moon
The Changing Face of Evil
When It Rains...
What You Leave Behind

I love Tacking into the Wind. Ezri's and Worf's scene where she talks about the Klingon Empire being dead is marvelous, as is the part when Sisko gives Worf his own 'In the Pale Moonlight' moment in killing Gowron. And that's before all of the beautiful scenes with Kira and Damar:

"What kind of state tolerates the murder of innocent women and children? What kind of people give those orders?"
"Yeah, Damar—what kind of people give those orders?"

I love Kor's wonderful exit in Once More Unto the Breach, I just like the other episodes more. :klingon:

Treachery, Faith, and the Great River
It's Only a Paper Moon
The Changing Face of Evil
When It Rains...
What You Leave Behind

I'm surprised "TACKING INTO THE WIND" got taken out, too. Quite possibly Moore's best script, which is saying something because he wrote a lot of great episodes. Every scene was just gold.

I will take out "WHEN IT RAINS...", only because the remainders are even stronger episodes. You have a phenomenal Nog episode, you have Weyoun squared, you have the final arc hitting its peak, and you have the finale. "WHEN IT RAINS...", while really good, just couldn't compete against these.

Treachery, Faith, and the Great River
It's Only a Paper Moon
The Changing Face of Evil
What You Leave Behind

Tacking into the Wind was the culmination of the entire Klingon saga that began on TNG.

It's funny looking at the difference between Picard being pissed at Worf when he killed Duras back during Reunion, and Sisko's conversation with Worf about Gowron and him having to be stopped. :klingon:

And that's before all of the other awesome stuff with Kira, Odo, Garak, and Damar.

"Treachery, Faith, And The Great River" is still here? No longer. One of the weaker links of the year. It's all great on paper, but somehow that Odo/Weyoun story is not as good as it should be.

It's Only a Paper Moon
The Changing Face of Evil
What You Leave Behind

It's Only a Paper Moon is better than a Nog/Vic episode has a right to be, but it's not as good as these other two.

The Changing Face of Evil
What You Leave Behind

I was hoping "IT'S ONLY A PAPER MOON" would survive to the last two so I could vote it to win for my wife. (It's quite probably her favorite episode.)

It's a tough call here, but I had more emotional and single man tear moments with "WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND", so it wins. (And I know my wife would have voted for this one, too. So it works out.)

Wow a somewhat surprise final two, but they're both brilliant episodes and it will be good to see how they do in the final contest.

The DS9 final round, this year, will probably be even more difficult than previous years, given the episodes that made the cut.

Should be quite intetesting.

Sisko > Picard
