The least disliked episode 2021 - PIC Season One

Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

*RULES*

Given Picard's short first season run, we'll go straight to final round rules. Give what you consider to be the worst/your least favourite episode ONE point, and briefly explain WHY. Be sure to copy and paste the list with your point added. When an episode reaches 4 points, it is eliminated. Then a NEW round begins (in this thread) with the numbers restored to 0. Vote ONCE per round. If 48 hours without a vote passes, the episode currently leading in points will be eliminated, and a new round will begin. And enjoy!

[Seven of Five]

The synth homeworld was a joy to behold, but Et in Arcadia Ego I is easily the weakest episode for me in PIC's first season. There was just nothing to it to remember fondly.

Definitely "Et in Arcadia Ego I." I actually quite like the second part. Is it perfect? Good lord, not in a million years. But its heights are among my favorite parts of the season.

The synth homeworld was a joy to behold,

That's true! The production team, top to bottom, did an incredible job realizing the synths and their homeworld. It was a perfectly modern version of season 1 TNG ideas. They evoked the Edo, revised just enough so that you could take them seriously. That is the great pleasure of these episodes for me, the visuals.

If only I could ignore every line of dialogue...

 

[Precious Tritium]

'Et in Arcadia Ego I' gets the elimination from me. After some fantastic buildup, this episode really takes the wind of the season's sails. Luckily, the finale manages to salvage it somewhat, with the conversation between Picard and Data being one of my favourite moments in the franchise. Period.

I know it's about to sink but I'm holding firm on not voting against it. I'd eliminate it closer to the middle, personally.

"The End Is the Beginning" is by no means dire but it doesn't have the punch of "Maps and Legends," and certainly not "Remembrance." I find it to be the weakest of the three "premiere episodes."
