The latest on Marvel films

He mentions Bucky being around in some capacity. Might mean they would do the Winter Soldier storyline in one of the sequels, which would be really cool.

And there's apparently another film for 2012 that will be announced in the near-term.

You know, I had that thought myself. I think Jared Padalecki could do a good Cap, though. I discovered, after watching "Friday the 13th" of all things, that I no longer hate him.

They should have went with animated films, as they talked about in the earlier article. Animation is the natural home of superhero films. A full feature-length animated with a $100 million budget would SO kick ass, and does NOT have to be writen for kids!

and ANT MAN? Come ON, Marvel...you've got better characters than that...


Give us New Warriors or Thunderbolts, for pete's sake!

Adam Baldwin would'a made a perfect Cap, but I guess he's too old for the origin story.

And confirmed that Samuel Jackson and Scarlett Johansson as well as Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are signed on for multiple movies or "multiple franchises," further extending that hint that Loki will be a villain who shows up quite often. Feige kept saying often that he'd love for audiences to have the same experience that comic book readers have - where characters make surprise appearances almost out of nowhere in issues they pick up.

This makes me excited. I love crossovers and it sounds like they are going to step it up.

Don't you think Marvel might be shooting themselves in the foot? Iron Man 2 had a release date before anyone had officially signed on. The Hulk was a movie that, by the end because "Prologue to the Avengers." And if they weren't already doing enough to build up the Avengers movie that won't happen, we have "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Thor is all about a conflict in Asgard, making it completely irrellevant that it's based on the comic and not the mythical God. And jeez, that's planning on having an end that ties directly to "Avengers" !


How about we get good, stand alone movies, instead of build up for sequels? And most origin stories are simply, why do they feel they need two hours to "Introduce us" to a character? Often I wonder about Batman Begins..... We know his origin, do we need more than two hours to tell it? And if we didn't, it takes five minutes, tops.


I also think they are kinda over saturating the marketplace. How many superhero movies do we need a year? Very soon, people are going to get sick of them. So you can kiss your avengers movie "Bye bye."

The only ones I'm excited about are Iron Man 2 and The Avengers movie. I'll probably skip Thor and Cap.

BTW, we ever going to get a live action Justice League movie?

Hate to say it but for the life of me I can't see Thor working if it's set in Asgard.TBH the idea of muscular vikings spouting the cod-shakespearean language doesn't quite do it for me,and I'm a Marvel fan.
I fear that were the Thor strand of the Avengers plan were to bomb,then the whole project would crumble(given the results driven business that Hollywood is).
I cannot see the movie appealing to casual moviegoers.

What I can picture working is a type of pre-credit or brief intro scene where we meet Thor, smiting giants, quaffing ale, being arrogant and earning his father's displeasure... all this plays over the credits. The credits end, and Dr. Donald Blake wakes up and reaches for his walking stick...

If Thor is going to be an Avenger, then his movie needs to be set in the "real world", not Asgard.

I think you misinterpreted what Feige is saying there. He mentioned that the movie will be a period piece, so it'll be about Captain America's experience during World War II, which Bucky was a part of.
