The Last Starfighter...

Anyone notice that there is a "announced" page that's popped up on IMDB in the last month or so for a film called "Starfighter"... The sequel to "The Last Starfighter"...

I would go see it.

I'm currently penning a sequel called "The Next Starfighter" where Alex's daughter (or son, depending on the demo we're aiming for!) has grown up to lead legion of Starfighters, and has a hard time dealing with why Rylos should go to the defense of a newly threatened planet...our Earth. He/She doesn't give a crap about it because he/she grew up on Rylos! Get it???

We start shooting in August for a summer 2010 release! (look for Vince Vaughn to play the Centauri-analogue character!)

It demands a Sequel, but it won't be the same without Robert Preston as Centauri and the orignial Grig char. (hes no alive though) I would hope they use the original chars tho Catherine Mary Stewart and lance guest.

At least dedicate to Robert Preston and O'Herley's memory.

I LOVED this movie as a kid - the ultimate fantasy for a sci-fi loving, video game junkie.

However, as an adult, it's hard to imagine that I'd enjoy a sequel, except perhaps out of nostalgia. Still, if they can make it work, why not? I'd go see it.
