The Last of Us: Part II

A lot of people also can't handle the fact that the killed off Joel.
Which don't really get why so many people have a problem with Ellie being the main character rather than Joel, because if you look at the franchise as a whole, it's really been more Ellie's story than Joel's from the beginning. Yeah, you play as Joel in the first game, but his story kicks off with him being put in charge of Ellie, and then you have the comic, American Dreams, which is a prequel focused on Ellie, and then Left Behind also focuses on Ellie between AD and the first game. So out of the four parts of the franchise we've gotten so far, only 1 of them focuses on Joel.

Yeah, definitely a good idea. Should have been done much sooner, but at least this should help cut down on the review-bombing.

Yeah, a good idea to dampen down on TLJ-esque review bombing/picketing by trolls and malcontents (but fair enough not everyone is going to be happy with a product, no matter what, but it's gotten so ridiculous in the late 2010s).

I would think it's more than fair. The other alternative would be to do away with user reviews altogether. Mind you, regular reviews by professional critics are vetted and would seem to be more trustworthy when considering the pool of user reviews.

I think it's pretty obvious why so many people hate Abby's storyline. She turns on a bunch of people and kills them all in order to save a kid. That would never happen in The Last of Us universe.

Like I mentioned over in the What Are You Playing thread, I've started a second play through. I posted a couple thoughts over there, but I now that I remembered this thread, I'll post any more thoughts here.
I've been surprised how many lighter and kind funny moments there are in the early part of the game. I was thinking it was nothing but doom and gloom from the moment it started but it's really not, although it does definitely go in that direction as it goes on.

TLOUPII has gotten even more awards since The Game Awards. They've now gotten the Spanish Fun and Games Festival's Game of the Year, Best Narrative Design, and Best Original Soundtrack, Playstation Blog's Game of the Year, EW.com included on their list of best games of the year, @CanIPlayThat gave it their Best Overall Accessible, and Best Blind/Low Vision Support Awards, and IGN gave it Best of 2020 awards for Best Playstation Exclusive, Best Action/Adventure, Best Story, Advancement in Accessibility, and Best Performance for Laura Bailey.

I just finished this game the other day. The ending was very open, so I think we’ll probably be seeing a “Last of Us Part III” in the future. It’ll be interesting to see if the bring Abby and her adopted son back, along with Ellie.

I hope they do. It would be especially interesting if they ended up having another run in. I know it's the kind of story where it may be unlikely, but I really want to see Ellie get some kind of at least a semi-happy ending. After everything she's been through she really deserves it.

We probably won’t see “The Last of Us Part III” until June 2027 (the PS6 should be launching in November 2027 if the model holds of TLOU in June 2013, PS4 November 2013, TLOU2 June 2020, PS5 November 2020), since 1 & 2 weren’t released until 5 months before the new console.
