The Last of Us (HBO)

A couple days ago Neil Druckman shared a poster teasing the most significant edition to Season 2's cast.

I have to admit, I am curious if they're going to cast someone who is already in the kind of shape the person is in in the game, or if they'll hire someone and have them get in that kind of shape before the season starts.
I hope it's not to much of a spoiler to say this character is a woman, and I really don't know of any actresses who are in this kind of shape.

There are some female MMA fighters who are aspiring actors. I don't know what this character in the game looks like, but I know some of the fighters are incredibly ripped.

She's the one on the left

The character was actually a combination of three different women, a VFX artist named Jocelyn Mettler was the model for her face, another woman was the basis for her body, and Laura Bailey was her mo-cap/voice actress.

Frankie Adams from The Expanse.

She could definitely pull it off acting wise, but she's not quite that big. Now they could easily tone it down a bit, since her size isn't a huge part of story, but that is one of the things the character became best known for in the fandom, and we saw the arm in the poster, so they could be going for that kind of look.

Plus they could have the actor lift weights and sort of change her body to better fit the role.

Basically copies the game, which itself logically uses the story as a frame for gamer activity. The result is an average show with some good parts, and not much to develop beyond what's shown in the first season.

If they plan to follow the second game for the second season, then it'll look like Walking Dead, i.e., melodrama with a post-apocalyptic skin.

What they should have done was create new stories based on the game setting. For example, one of the remarkable episodes for me was what took place in Indonesia.

Jeffrey Wright is reprising his video game character for season 2. Hope this means they're doing something with him. It was a small nothing part anyone could've played.

Super brief clips from season 2 starting at 1:16.

You'll have to skip more than just this season then, they've already said it'll take them more than just Season 2 to cover the second game. And if it's worth keeping in mind that you will probably miss a lot of new content since they did add and change quite a bit last season, and I think they've said they're doing even more of that this season.
