The Last of Us (HBO)

Another great episode.
I'm a big Graham Greene fan, so I loved his appearance here.
Really liked the introduction of Jackson Hole, and we even got a surprised early introduction to a Part II/Season 2 supporting character, who I really didn't expect to see. I have to confess though, I did have to double check on the TLOU Wiki to see if she was who I thought she was.
We got some really nice stuff here with Joel and Tommy, and Runtina Wesley was good as Maria too. She was always one of my favorite cast members of True Blood, and it was cool to see her in a new role.
EDIT: Actually I think there where two Part II/Season 2 characters introduced early.

I've been thinking, aren't they beyond the point now where a vaccine would do any good? The disease isn't airborne, you either need to be bitten or have ingested the tainted flour which we can assume is gone. Most attack victims won't survive to be infected anyway.

So what would they really gain from a vaccine? It seems their real problem, besides danger from other humans, is the risk of getting swarmed by huge amounts of zombies. What they really need is some kind of weaponized antifungal.

Wouldn't a vaccine be good in case the disease mutated? From what understand in the game their was spores. I wonder if we might see that in the season final or something. Were the spores are becoming a thing for the first time. Thus making the importance even more greatly for a vaccine because no wall or amount of guns can keep something like that in check.

Because the Fireflies are desperately looking for a magic wand to make everything go back to the way it was and are willing to do just about anything to get it.

Yeah, if it became aerosolized it would be helpful. But it wouldn't solve the main problem.

Finally got around to watching last week's episode. Three month time jump and they're still acting like they were in the first batch of episodes. A jump like that and now character development.

Did anyone see a tribute to Annie Wersching with the third episode? A few sites say there was one, but I never saw it. I even went back and still nothing.

Never mind. I checked again and it was at the very beginning. But only on the browser. If I start the episode using the HBO Max app, it's not there.

I definitely remember seeing it and I use the HBO Max app on my LG TV. However I have no idea whether it was at the beginning or at the end of the episode.

I just checked again. HBO Max TV app, no. Signing into HBO Max on a browser, yes.

God damn, that was brutal both by the cult leader ( i won't call him christian at all after i know what he did) but Ellie and Joel didn't hold back either.

After Jackson with its almost peaceful and serene vibe we now see the other side of the coin that has never been shown in such brutal and inhumane ways but in the end i truly believe that would happen with humans under the same condition. One thing is for sure - never become Joel's enemy. It has been alluded many times in the show that Joel can get dark too if he has to in order to survive and that was it. He loves Ellie and would do anything without hesitation to protect her.

It was heartbreaking to see Ellie go through what happened and i'm sad that she the last remnants of an innocent child are gone now that she's been exposed to the worst humanity can offer at this point and that she herself had to become brutal in order to survive.

I watched it with my girlfriend. I usually wait until Mondays so I can go to bed early but she wanted to watch it while we were together.

She had to turn on piano music and read a book for 45 minutes after it ended to calm down enough to sleep.

No more watching The Last Of Us on nights before work.

The town may have had like a half-dozen or so killed, but on the bright side.

With the leaders dead I wonder about all those other folks that did't even know what was going on. I guess they will be dead pretty soon as well. Will they find out the dark secret of what was going on and try and continue it. Anybody even left with hunting skills.

The ending sequence right before she gets out the door and away from that pedophile was DISTURBING in a major way.
(I'm glad I know the actress playing a 14 year old is actually 19; but still. :barf:)

Damn, that was easily one of the most disturbing parts of the game, and the episode did not hold back either.
Fantastic performances all around.
I was curious what they were going to do with David and his people, and it was interesting to see a bit of what lead them to the point Ellie finds them in. They stuck pretty close to the game, it was just that the game was only the stuff from Ellie and Joel's perspectives.
FYI: The actor who played David's right hand guy, brain farting on his name, was played by the actor who played Joel in the games. And I believe the original Ellie is supposed to be on at some point to, but I haven't seen her yet, so I'm thinking she must be in next week's finale.

Troy Baker.

Ashley Johnson is in next week's episode. She plays
Ellie's mom
