The klothos

I've just finished watching The Time Trap in TAS and The Enterprise tangles with The Klingons led by Commander Kor whose ship is The Klothos! But I thought that Koloth was the Captain of that vessel? The Trouble With Tribbles not mentioning the name of his ship in that episode or is that a mistake of the later shows like DS9s Tribble sequel?
JB

Koloth commanded the IKS Gr'oth according to the DS9 Tribbles episode in which Kira mentioned the name. The Klothos was commanded by Kor and maybe he commanded two ships with that name. A D5 batte cruiser he mentioned in "Once more unto the Breach" and the D7 in "The Time Trap".

Thanks, MFB. Don't know why I thought Koloth commanded The Klothos! Did Kor mention The Klothos in his DS9 episodes?

Yes, he said he commanded "the Klothos, one of the old D5 cruisers" at the battle of Caleb IV. As "Enterprise" defined that the Klingons already used D5 cruisers in the middle of the 22nd century that class was really used for a long time. So I think that after the D5 Klothos was finally decommissioned Kor got the new D7 Klothos which we see in TAS. So like Captain Kirk, Captain Picard and Captain Sisko Kor commanded two Ships of the same name.

There is no on screen dialog to indicate the Klothos was aD7. That could have been a D5 in Time Trap.

And the actual design of the D5 was not established until ENT's "Marauders", which was filmed well after any of Kor's actual onscreen appearances. So there's no real evidence that there was ever more than one Klothos.

Besides, even if the Klothos was a D5 originally, and looked like ENT's version of the class did, it could always have been refit. Just like the Enterprise between TOS and TMP.

TAS was stylized animation. I'm sure the real live action ships would look somewhat different

Probably because "Klothos" is an anagram of "Koloth's".

I knew it was an anagram of Koloth's or almost so! But I was sure I'd heard it that Koloth commanded the vessel! Another point mentioned in the episode which is at odds with Search For Spock and the fact that they were going to use The Romulans and that's why The Klingon's had cloaking technology, was that in Time Trap, Kirk mentions that The Klingons too have cloaking abilities!
