Given the not-kid friendly crap that shows up on my Disney+ screen because I have a Hulu bundle? It would be fine. (I don't have little kids anymore, but I know that other people now do, so it annoys me that I would have had to manage parental controls on DISNEY.)

As a matter of fact, Maryam d'Abo was actually cast first, before even Brosnan tested. She was originally brought in to test the Bond actors, and through that process the producers came to like her enough that they offered her the part of Kara. Then Brosnan came along and did his test and the part was his as soon as the paperwork would be finished. When Brosnan seemingly had the part, Jeroen Krabbé, Andreas Wisniewski, then Joe Don Baker were added. They were practically set to go, but then the decision at NBC came down at the very last minute and Cubby refused to play along and took the offer back from Brosnan. Due to needing a Bond, they had to push back production for two weeks, so all the actors that were already signed had to wait it out. Dalton originally couldn't do TLD due to commitments to BRENDA STARR, but because the two week delay happened he was then available to take the gig. I think there was like a two day period between finishing his film and then starting filming on TLD. It was THAT fast paced.
Crazy thing is that Dalton and d'Abo didn't even have time to do chemistry tests, it was a happy accident that they just had wonderful chemistry.
That is legitimately wild that they cast the Bond girl first. That's so backwards. It worked, but, like you say, a happy accident.
It also makes me look at d'Abo's filmography and think, "She should have had a better career."

I sorta wish Maud Adams had been able to have a much more visible and well-recognized career outside of her two Bond films. Octopussy showed she had enough screen presence and range to be an effective star outside of action and adventure, but she never got to shine the way she should have.

I thought that too. But it's her cousin Olivia, who was in Criminal Intent.
