The Island Gods are Contradicting Themselves *TNPLH P. 3 Spoilers*

In a season finale flash forward Kate had an interesting dream (though she didn't know it was a dream at the time). We can assume that this dream was from the "island gods" just like Locke's dream, which lead him to Jacob's cabin. In Kate's dream she was "woken up" by the sound off someone breaking into her house. Before she could check on Aaron she got a phone call and heard "island whispers." After she hung up the phone and got a gun she went to Aaron's room. She ended up seeing Claire there and Claire said "Don't bring him back, Kate. Don't you dare bring him back!"

However, if you listen to the island whisper phone call in reverse it says to Kate: "The island needs you. You have to go back before it's too late."

Why would the island gods say in a phone call to come back to the island, but then say through Claire not to bring Aaron back? Why are they contradicting themselves? The way things were left with Claire you would think she was in full agreement with the island. Or maybe you could say that Kate has to come back, but she can't bring back Aaron. But if that is the case, why would Ben say to John that he needs to bring everyone back to the island??? He seemed to be saying that that is the only way to save the island/the peeps on the island.

Does that make sense? Do I make any sense?? This is so confusing!!

My thought on this right now is that Ben's plan for the Island doesn't necessarily mesh with what Jacob and/or the Island itself wants. Ben's plan requires that everyone who left the Island return, whereas the Island doesn't want Aaron to return for whatever reason.

My thoughts exactly. The Whispers only said that Kate had to go back, nothing about "everyone" going back. Only Ben has said everyone has to go back.

There's no contradiction. The Island wants Kate to go back (God only knows why) but not Aaron.

I keep thinking about what the psychic told Claire before she got on Oceanic 815 - she said Claire had to raise the baby herself. She was going to give it up for adoption, right? Well, Claire ultimately abandoned her child which allowed Kate to "adopt" him and raise him off the island. According to the psychic, this is bad - so what would bringing Aaron back to the island do?

you guys got your quotes mixed up. All I said was that Kate wouldn't give the baby to her mother to 'watch' while Kate went to the island.
