The Interpretation of Dreams Thread™!

I had a dream about our very own Zion Ravescene last night. :)

He sent me a very poor quality photograph of something he had made, and he wanted me to go and see it. The photo was so poor that I couldn't tell what it was. It looked vaguely like a dark brown wall.

Anyway, I saw as I was approaching that it was a little castle he had built on unclaimed land in front of his house. It was four brown walls about 1.5 metres high, and built about 3 metres square. It was constructed with large blocks of stone, each about 50cm long and about 30cm high and deep.

I distinctly remember the top row of stone was darker and slightly bigger.

Then I looked up and saw ZR sat on the roof of his house, in a lotus position and facing the sun.

Once he noticed I had arrived, he came down and showed me around the castle. He said he had built it all himself by hand. I was amazed how straight and perfect it was.

There was a little orange machine on the back of the castle for lifting people in or out, and it had a gauge (-5 ... +5) to specify if you like to be lifted with your back straight, or tilted forwards or backwards. I chose +2 meaning a little forwards. Zion insisted on zero for himself saying that backs should be kept straight :)

Once we were both lifted inside the castle, he said something about 'survival', and 'being fit enough to live in a frog environment', whatever that means? Sounds swampy

Sounds like you may have mistaken me for someone else... :vulcan:

The dream perhaps reveals something about Jadzia's perception of Zion. The castle could symbolize strength, integrity, fortitude, perhaps confidence. Being elevated could represent gaining confidence and strength.

Funnily enough, today I had two separate experiences that were similar to one or two elements described in that dream.

The first was when I went shopping at a supermarket constructed within an old historical barracks site, which (yes) had brown bricks.

The second involved then coming home and reading this article on BBC News.

Wow, I had another Las Vegas-themed dream last night. I swear, Sin City calls to me!
This dream felt more realistic than the others I had.

I went there with relatives as usual, this time with my parents, sisters, brother, nephew, nieces. Even my 21-year-old nephew Eric brought his friend Franz along. We were staying at some kind of house or hotel that was big enough for our family. Eric's friend got into trouble with some guys (like having a minor car accident), and now those guys were out looking for Franz for revenge. So my family talked about how dangerous it was for Eric and his friend and that any one of us could run into the "bad guys," too.

Next door to the house/hotel I was staying in was some kind of a mall or casino with stores and restaurants in it. I could see through the displays that they were selling authentic souvenirs, superhero toys and action figures, and the like. I told my nephew Matt not to venture off too far by himself. I went into a restaurant where the customers ate in beds and mattresses. I remember taking off my shoes and other personal belongings, and when it was time to leave, I found myself in a hurry to pick up my personal effects.

I thought I really needed a plastic bag of sorts to carry all my stuff. Then I went to this small convenience store, and the owner was some middle-aged man wearing a rock-and-roll shirt and a leather jacket; the other man was a cashier. I asked if they had a plastic bag, but all I could find were small ones. Eventually, I found the bags I needed, and the owner proceeded to offer me a smoothie drink. He put a small, dead venomous snake in a blender along with other ingredients and offered me the smoothie to boost my energy, etc. I said, "Isn't this toxic?" He said, "That's why you have to drink it within an hour." I'm not sure if I did.

Back at the house/hotel, my youngest nephew Will was sick. He looked different, like he was much younger than his age of 4. He had a temperature, and I remember looking after him and giving him some blanket, but that only made him feel hotter. That was the last thing I remembered about the dream.

I had another dream wherein I was living in my family's old house in another country. I saw a python in my aunt's backyard (next to my house), and the python was in the process of eating something, as I could see the bulge in its body. I told others what I had seen, and when my mom, my aunt, and I came back, the python was slithering away, with the meal still bulging in its body. The bulge looked like a big tuna, and I remember asking my mom if she was going to cook fish for dinner and that the snake might have eaten the fish from our kitchen. My brother and I also saw that the python had shed its skin when it left.

I had a dream I was working back at KFC again...I am thinking there is unfinished business with them...cause I quit and I didn't like how they dealt with me and I would still be there if they just were fair to me instead of pulling the BS they did when I got sick.

The dream was I was washing dishes and they were bringing endless amounts of pans and stuff to me...even after we closed.

I have been dreaming that I was a relief pitcher for the KC Royals. (I'm not a fan of theirs but I do live within their home territory, and their AAA affiliate is in Omaha)

Here's an odd one. I dreamed that I was in class with one of my favorite instructors. It was near the end of the term, and he was really pissed off for some reason or the other. He suddenly announced that he was coming around to each of us to see how far we'd gotten on our homework assignments. I couldn't remember if we had a homework assignment, and obviously I hadn't finished it.

When he came around to me, he totally blew up when he saw I hadn't done any homework. He started screaming until he was red in the face, and then he pulled out something that looked like a gun. At that point, a pair of security guards showed up in the doorway. They said they had been called because of reports of shouting. My instructor hid the gun in his pocket and told them to go away, and the guards left.

I woke up in a cold sweat. This was the most frightening dream I've had in a while.

Last night I dreamed that someone on TV (whom I have mentioned a few times on this BBS before) performed a striptease live on television. I saw everything. :bolian:

When I was younger, I had recurring dreams about saving my little cousin from various dangers. At the time, I was a teen and she was around 8 years old. The one I remember most vivdly from those days is that we were swimming in deep, murky water and an anaconda was pursuing us. I was carrying her as I swam, and we got to a wall with vines on it. I lifted her onto the vines and told her to climb away as fast as she could before the anaconda pulled me over and I woke up going "OMGWTF I am never going to sleep again."

(In case you're wondering, I have unusually linear dreams, by the way, and sometimes a mytharc of sorts will run through multiple dreams a night.)

Anyway, I grew out of those dreams. I'm 25 now and Little Cousin is 16. However, the other night, I dreamed we were both in our old houses that were next door to each other, and the connected backyards were a swamp. Again, there were big snakes, and alligators. One child I didn't know fell into this area and was taken before we could save her. I saw Little Cousin walk out her door, unaware of the danger, and managed to zip across the swamp-yard, scoop her up (I guess she was a child again the dream), and carry her back to our house.

Now, I doubt I am very heroic in real life. I'm a timid 5'3" woman. But in these dreams, I will go through fire to save that kid. I just wonder why I suddenly had one of those dreams again. I don't perceive her to be in any particular danger in real life at the moment.

^I think it's more about you than Little Cousin. Maybe you feel sometimes that people are oblivious to dangers that surround them, and you're motivated to be a protector / guardian / watcher for your clan. :)

While this may not be your preferred role, you perhaps do feel an underlying urge, or a sense of responsibility to assume this role.

Maybe so. I was thinking it must be about my cousin, but maybe it is about me-- we have a large family, and I feel like I'm the one who keeps everybody organized. I had just arranged a get-together the week I had the dream, so maybe that had something to do with it. Thanks, Jadzia!

Hasn't anyone had any good dreams lately. I had to go searching for this thread.

I had a dream which featured a member of Trekbbs. I won't say who it was because I am a little embarrassed that he featured in my dream.

I was working at a pizza joint. My co-worker was the spitting image of Matthew Fox and in fact his name was Jack (but I knew he wasn't actually Jack from LOST).

The boss told that those guys next door wanted a pizza delivered. I said something about how lazy there were to want their pizza delivered when they only lived next door but I said I would deliver it. Jack was getting off work so he said he would come along with me because these guys were his friends. I didn't really want him to walk with me because this Jack was as thick as a brick and annoying as well.

we walked down the road to where there was a mobile home. The guys who ordered the pizza were lounging around outside drinking beer. The Trekbbs member looked a bit like Dominic Monaghan but was skinnier and shorter (I don't actually know what this Trekbbs looks like but I called him by his Trekbbs name).

There was a running track next to mobile home and the Trekbbs guy told Jack that he should go in a race because Jack was a good runner. So Jack went off to run in a race. I stood by waiting to be paid but the guys were all too interested in seeing Jack race. They stood on their chairs to see the race which I couldn't see from where I was so they were calling the race for me. "Jack is running third behind the guy in blue, he has overtaken him so now he is in second place, he is closing on the leader etc. They were getting very excited screaming "he is going to win, he's going to WIN"

Just then the runners came by the side of the house and I could see them for the first time. I saw Jack overtake the leader and the guys shouted wildly "HE'S WON, HE'S WON, good on you Jack.

I was stunned because I when I saw them I realised that all the other contestants in the race were children, none of them looked over about 8 years old.

The guys were slapping Jack on the back telling him what a great runner he was. I said to them "He was racing against little kids". The guys looked at me and told me to go away. I said I wanted the money for the pizza but they refused to give it to me so I picked up the pizza and left.

Well, I remember having some sci-fi dream again a couple of weeks ago. It was actually a series of short, disjointed dreams, and I didn't feel like posting anything at the time.

I mentioned somewhere in this thread that I had a dream about LOST and Jack being the candidate chosen by Jacob. I guess I was right in a way, though my dream didn't turn out the way it did in the finale. :D

when i was a kid i used to have the weirdest dreams when i was sick. especially when i had a fever i used to dream that i got killed when a giant roll of toilet paper fell on me.

i study psychology but i haven't heard of anything weirder than this...

nowadays i usually dont remember my dreams for some reason. dunno why. probably because i don't sleep anymore. aspirine and caffeine pills is what i live on. its bad i know but unless someone manages to make the days 30 hours i'm at a loss...

I had a dream last night it was like some Pixar CGI crap.

It involved a girl with red hair who slayed monsters with a magical sword...the dream had vampires, werewolves, ghouls and ghosts...it was crazy...this vampire friend of hers tuned into a bat. I might write a book about this...it was like a movie.

[edit] And there was this old car that transformed into robot butler looking guy...it would give her advice and stuff.

Well here's a dream that is still fresh in my mind.

I dreamed that I was Clark Kent/Superman (and looked a lot like Matt Bomer) and with the newspaper industry in peril, I came up with the idea to try and help save the Daily Planet by granting them (or rather us, since I worked there too) the first exclusive interview with Superman. But I couldn't decide whether to give it to Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack) who knows my secret or Lois Lane (Rachel McAdams) who doesn't know.

Pretty sure there's no meaning in this dream though. But I did get to fly in it. Too bad it lasted about a whole two seconds because I was doing it in super speed to save someone.

The dream really didn't get into specifics about much of anything, but it did feel like a real representation of the newspaper industry, unlike Smallville which seems to portray jobs like how a 10-year-old would describe them.
