"The Inner Light" Classic TV

I need to watch it first before I can make that assumption. I can't find it online. It's annoying *grr*. The soundtrack for this episode, though, is epic. Listened to it for the first time last night and I can't stop. Well, I'm off to scan through the Sky TV Guide to see if it's airing any time soon.

Solid, but massively overrated. Personally, I couldn't watch a series of episodes of this ilk without becoming incredibly bored.

its not my personal favorite but I watched it the other day with someone who doesn't like star trek any they loved it in a universal type way

I've had the TNG Blu-ray preview disc for about five or six weeks now and haven 't given it much thought. Encounter at Farpoint, that one with Kurn from season three and The Inner Light, which may well be one of a very few TNG pisodes that I haven't seen. Think I need my head checked.

A decent enough episode, but not one of TNG's best by any means, I would place it somewhere in the pack generally.

:)

"The Inner Light" is not only one of the best Trek episodes, but one of the best episodes in TV history.

Is "The inner light" one of the best TV episodes ever?

Probably. It's certainly one of my favorites.

Neither could I. Part of its appeal to me is that it was so different from other TNG episodes and presented a different perspective on Captain Picard. (And then there's the fabulous sound track.)

Indeed it is. What a beautiful episode it is. As some have already said, it is one of the very best TV episodes of any show ...of all-time.

The most overrated episode in the history of Television.

It's basically a holodeck episode that doesn't go into the moral implications of an evil alien race.

I'd even rate it one of the worst episodes of TNG. I have never understood the love for that episode. It's boring, nonsensical, the alien race is evil and nothing changes except Picard got a flute. An experience like that should've left Picard unfit to command a starship. You don't wake up and just resume your normal life after you haven't lived in it in however many years. I have the same issue with Hard Time.

:techman:

I've described it in other threads as me watching Picard watch a movie for forty minutes.
