Well it makes sense. Paramount's "Enterprise" is the 2009 Enterprise. Right now, it's "the" Enterprise in the minds of the shareholders and the main stream audience.
Plus, there was probably some sort of intellectual-property issue in that CBS (while owning Trek overall) likely owns the rights to the likeness of the previous versions while Paramount's "Enterprise" is all their own property. However that would work out.
You need glasses or contacts. And if you're already wearing them then perhaps you should have the prescription checked.
Whatever anyone else "thinks", the current USS Enterprise, the only USS Enterprise at this point, is the 2009 version and therefore the one to represent the franchise and be part of Paramounts promotional events.

Oh I know, I'm just amused at your reluctance to accept such a simple little thing. Paramount owns the franchise, they determine what is canon and what isn't, and this *is* the Enterprise, it's not really up for debate.
Besides, it looks like the crowd are thoroughly enjoying it, which is what matters.

You mean it's not The U.S.S. Enterprise, as seen in the recent 2009 blockbuster hit "Star Trek"? Sorry, but since it's the only current Star Trek in production, and since it's Paramount's property, and they say it's the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), you're mistaken. If you disagree, please call J.J. Abrams and tell him how wrong he is. I'm sure he'll hire you as a consultant for the movie right away. He may even let you hold the flashlight!
Better yet, call Paramount! Tell them they've got the wrong ship! I'm sure once they hear one lone fan who refuses to accept what is in front of his face, they'll turn a whole new leaf and get rid of this whole "making scads of money off of a popular franchise" thing right away and go back to making the same wonderful cardboard sets from TOS!

It's already been close to 4 (since the buzz began), so you can't be saying by the time the movie comes out there won't be anyone wanting to see it, because that would be patently absurd and an utter denial of the current course of events. Now, if it lasts 5 more years from this date, that will make it 9 years total, which was about the run of the original series movies, and longer than the TNG movies. So what you're saying is it will be at least equal to the others in terms of cinema longevity. Awesome!

I remember the film being announced or teased originally back in November 2006, which is already over 5 years since the initial "buzz" began. As of May 2013 it'll be 6 1/2 years, and we're still talking about the first film now so say, 2016? but wait! that's when the third film in the contracted series will be in cinema's.
I guess by 2020 it'll die down. Of course by then, someone will have pitched or already be airing a new show or something based on them or a new reboot, hmm.

Did you know, the reason fans hate the 2009 movie so much is because it went back and erased all their VHS tapes, laserdiscs, DVDs, Blu-rays, books, and memories? As long as they fight to get the new movie removed from the public eye, there's still a chance the gods would return the original copies to one lucky fan with encyclopedic knowledge of Trek canon. So they fight valiantly, for if they fail, Star Trek won't be seen as it was on The Original Series. Lords of Kobol, no. Instead, it will be forever imagined as an action adventure story set in space, where young, good looking leads, and their crew wear colorful costumes and use semi-plausible technology to explore the galaxy in mighty starships.

Seriously, though. I grew up with two antenna TVs and one VCR in a house with four people, so when I didn't have access to those I read the Blish novelizations. I've been a Trekkie since before I can remember clearly. I have strong opinions about Trek. I care a lot about it. I liked Trek XI, and the JJPrise, but will admit both have their flaws(She's rather awkward from some angles and I don't like the torpedo deck, it interrupts the flow of the design. Felt the same way about the torpedo deck on the TMP ship.) I know other people don't share this opinion, from both sides, either having a higher or lower opinion.
However, what I do have a lower opinion of is other Trek fans, fans of an enlightened and optimistic view of the future, whining and sniping at each other and in general acting like a bunch of whiny brats. Some of you seriously disliked the film, we get it. Harping on it over and over again doesn't make you better, and it's not going to suddenly make people change their minds about their own opinions at this point. The movie's been out for a couple of years now, I'd say their opinions have well and truly formed. At this point, you're just trolling for an argument, and I probably shouldn't be feeding the parasprites but I'm just sick of it.
The same goes for fans of the film, in a way. Express your like of it. Heck, I do. However, some people dislike it. They've made up their minds, and we can't change that. Yes. See, if you liked the movie before it premiered (which made you a fake Trek "fan"), your copies were safe (As if you watch them, Yoda lover). By not liking the movie beforehand, a True Trek Fan™ (In the name of the Spock, the Bones, and the Holy Shat) saw his collection totally wiped out. Only through apoplectic denials and hateful screeds can the True Trek Fan™ (In the name of the Spock, the Bones, and the Holy Shat) get his collection restored by the Gods of Roddenberry, and watch as the 2009 abomination's history is rewritten from a successful, popular movie, to the failure that they wanted it to be.
