The Guild - Do You Wanna Date My Avatar (Felicia Day)

The asian chick in the purple outfit was in no way the hottest thing on the planet but was hot compared to the dull Felicia Day. She's a boring looking ginger chick that wouldn't stick out in a crowd.

And this is why you don't understand us.

Felicia Day is ugly. The asian chick in that video was way hotter.

Fail. No, Epic Fail.

OMG NO U EPIC FAIL.

Besides, Jessica Rabbit is the hottest ginger ever.

i'm going to have to agree with KT on this... i dont get the Felicia Day love... she is average looking at best. nothing wrong with being average looking... but in geek culture "average girls that show interest in geek things" get quite the bump on the attractiveness scale.

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't, aren't we ? You heard it everyone, back to judging everyone purely on looks we go.

Average looking hardly equals ugly, as KT originally said. And while she's not super gorgeous, I do think she's quite pretty. The Geekiness and the fact she's a redhead just adds to that. :D

To a certain degree, "averageness" may actually increase attractiveness. Certainly when you morph a lot of human faces to their common mean face, the result is usually "attractive".....

Plus, the girl-next-door factor may make her seem more accessible than someone with supermodel looks.

I'm constantly bombarded with "real women" this, "real women" that. Which is it ? Am I supposed ignore everything else but looks or not ?

Felicia Day isn't attractive because she plays up some geek girl stereotype, she's attractive because she's smart and funny and a genuinely nice person. Sorry for not being shallow.

You beat me to it. A large part of what makes Felicia attractive is her personality. She's cute anyway, but her geekiness and quirky sweetness just make her adorable. :)

You people are also going purely on looks. You don't know her personally so you can't say for sure she is a nice person. She could be a nice person infront of the camera but be 100% bitch at home. Of course she wont display that behaviour infront of a lens. Plus, she's a redhead. That right there = fiery attitude.

Also, girls who like 'geeky' things isn't anything new and it's not even rare anymore. Look at how many females post here, in a Star Trek forum. Sure, we are outnumbered by the guys but there are still quite a few of us here. This just reminds me of the 'girl gamer' thing. Girl gamers are a lot less rare these days than people think.

Really though, unless you know a person personally (and watching them every week doesn't mean you know them personally), no one can really comment on how nice or mean they are. If you know Chef Gordon Ramsey, he is apparently a really nice guy in reality (said by many people who have interviewed him) yet look how he is on his shows.

I'm not going to fight over who is hot and who is not (and I can't believe people even chose to fight with me over something so stupid) because everyone has their own opinion. To me, she's boring. To you, she makes you hard.

Can't put my finger on it but there's something about Felicia that doesn't seem genuine, as if she's projecting a carefully crafted personna 100% of the time. She's trying too hard to be everyone's favorite fan-girl. That, or she's come to believe her own press that she actually is everyone's favorite fan-girl. Go to any Joss Whedon site and they're falling all over Felicia with titles like "Queen of the Internet". I don't see any evidence that she tries to distance herself from that.

I love nerdy girls. Problem is most nerd girls suffer from having the bodytype of the girl dressed in blue in that video and not Felicia or that asian girl.

mmmmmmmm, asian girl.

I though it was hilarious to see all the characters dressed up like their avatars.
I was cracking up at seeing Vork slowly getting into the song, being very reluctant at the beginning and then going full-out at the end.
I didn't even notice that the first time I watched that but I downloaded the HD version on Xbox Live today and I see what you mean. That is pretty funny and very much in character for Vork.

And may I ask why they call her "the Asian Whedon?"

Name's Maurissa. She's Jed Whedon's wife, Joss Whedon's sister-in-law. She's one of the writers on Dollhouse and co-wrote Dr. Horrible.

Her song, "Nobody's Asian in the Movies," is the best thing about the Dr. Horrible DVD.:guffaw:

Nobody's Asian in the movies
Nobody's Asian on TV
If there is a role there for us
It's the groupie in the chorus
That's me...

I can only go by the way she behaves in public and on places like her Twitter feed and also by the way other people who do know her talk about her - like Veronca Belmont who has mentioned her a lot on Tekzilla lately. So yeah, living several thousand miles away from a minor celebrity I don't know might have an impact on my ability to judge her personality.

I could sit here and say Daniel Craig is a woman beating drunk off-camera. I couldn't prove it and it wouldn't have any effect on the TrekBBS' women who like him.

I never pretended they didn't exist. I knew a couple back in school and that was in the 90's. I used to know a woman who owns about twenty different games consoles of varying eras. Didn't find any of them attractive. Just because a girl plays video games that doesn't make her more attractive to me.

No, she doesn't.

Nice condescending rant against people who dare to have a crush on a celebrity you don't! Good job! :bolian:

I love Day. She was always my favorite Slayerette. She was more or less relegated to the background and didn't do all that much, but there was just something about her.

I guess Joss saw the same thing I did. :p
