First of all, numbers don't lie. One does not need to be J/Cer to appreciate J/Cness more than C/7. But I guess that didn't come as surprise. I am talking about, of course, this poll right here: http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=98128

Ooo I've really missed this thread!! now it's back up again, can I ask people's opinions abnout something?

I've been thinking about Endgame recently. Was it coincidence or deliberate that the Admiral arrives at exactly the moment that C/7 are about to get it on, so they are interrupted to go to the bridge and then are too busy so never get a chance?

I don't know how coincidental the interruption was, but Chakotay's comment "Next time we deactivate the comm. system." irked me. I have hard time imagining him saying something like that while on duty, girl or no girl in his arms. So even if the writers safed us from witnessing more of the horror known as C/7, writers still get the thumbs down from me for writing that comment for Chakotay.

And look at this screen shot - Jeri Ryan looks like she's about to throw up. Lol.

An awful lot of Endgame could fall into the 'I have a hard time imagining them saying/doing that' category.

I was wondering if all that waffle about Janeway wanting to get Seven back for Chakotay was an attempt to try to get the J/C ers to move on and accept that J/C was never going to happen - Janeway clearly wanted C and 7 to be together so we should be happy too. However so much of it could be understood as her getting back just in time to stop C/7 happening at all, and there's her line to Chakotay's grave ' "I know it wasn't easy living all these years without her,But when I'm through, things might be better for all of us."

I dunno. I think I've read so much fanfic now, and Post endgame is my preferred stuff, that I've seen all the possible loopholes in endgame as exploited by the various authors. I have to say, it may have been disappointing at the time, but boy has endgame and C/7 led to some magnificent J/C fanfic

This is true. Voyager fanfic remains the most popular genre at fanfiction.com and I have to wonder if they loose ends like J/C were all neatly tied up (as in nuBSG) if that would be the case.

This is true. Voyager fanfic remains the most popular genre at fanfiction.com and I have to wonder if they loose ends like J/C were all neatly tied up (as in nuBSG) if that would be the case.

I don't think that would have been the case. C/7 led to many many Endgame fixer stories and therefore I even dare to claim that it was a mixed blessing for the J/C fandom, which is very much alive and kicking still today. Full Circle may also lead to fixer stories, but not in the same scale, I think.

And what comes to Janeway - of course she wanted Chakotay and Seven to be happy together. They were her two favorite persons after all. So therefore, when I read fic where Janeway is super pissed to Seven, because she "stole" her man, I have hard time believing it. As I see Janeway, she would be happy for them. However, as I see Endgame, it is a totally different situation for all of the crew. C/7, in my imaginary universes, cannot survive in this new situation.

So, true. I thought, at the time, that he would never have turned off the comm. system--they are used to being on call, as needed, for the good of the ship and crew, and he wouldn't shirk that duty.

Another thing he said to Seven that is totally off and out of character is in the astrometrics lab where he implies that he can adjust her schedule, if she needs time, as a special favor. She is the one who says: "It would be inappropriate to allow our personal relationship to affect your command decisions." I mean, come on! She's talking to the XO and a trained Starfleet officer. He would have to have said that in jest--but poor innocent Seven believed him. (This is, however, one of those conversations that just sets my teeth on edge).

"Endgame" was a grave disservice to both characters IMHO.

Definitely cringeworthy. Folks complain that Janeway made Chakotay look weak but unfortunately he didn't need her help to look like a dork.

OH gosh. I have found my home! You guys don't even understand. Like I watched this show from beginning to end and I was a die hard J/C fan from beginning to end. I even belonged to a J/C e-mail group (there weren't forums back then) that e-mailed each other to discuss J/C! I LOVE them. And yes, I am one of those people who just doesn't believe that Endgame ever happened. I was all prepared to cry during the end of that episode. I was waiting for something as awesome as the last episode of TNG. But no, instead I found myself cringing through most of it. :: I would love however to read some awesome fanfiction if anyone has suggestions. It's been awhile since I've delved into the J/C world and I would love to do so again. I'm so glad I found this thread!

Anyone that loves J/C fan fiction should try J/C Ville. It's a work in progress. The owner (who also owns commercial sites) has been trying to clean it up after a major attack that caused her to lose her domains so not everything is back yet. She does have a huge number of links working again.

@Tachyon: Your new fake is magnificent! I love your fakes very much! Your fakes "2 tickets to Dorvan V" and "JC wedding on Dorvan" inspired me to write a JC fanfic! J & C become lovers after their trip to Tevlik's Moon (Homecoming by Chr. Golden). Chak invites Kathryn to spend her holidays on Dorvan... Yeah ... there is much to do after the Dominion War... especially for Kathryn, who everytime needs something to do. ...but there is plenty of time to think about their lives... their relationship... for dangerous trips to DS9... finally...
