The Good Wife

Unless I missed it, there is no thread about The Good Wife. Do you people watch that show?

I watched the first two seasons rapidly during the summer. I really enjoyed the show and the characters. Now I watch Season 3. I am not that excited as before, but I still like the show a lot.

Anyone else liking it?

I've watched seasons 1 and 2 but 3 hasn't aired in the UK or Ireland yet. I think it's very good. Margulies is an excellent actress (and damn hot for her age!) and is supported by a fine cast (especially now that Alan Cumming is a regular). The plots often reflect real-life recent legal stories and I think the political side is handled quite well too.

I think it's interesting that Margulies' other legal show Canterbury's Law, which was pretty much as good as TGW, in my book, got scrapped after a handful of episodes whereas TGW has been such a hit. But that's showbusiness!

Incidentally, have you noticed how the producers are big fans of The Wire and have managed to cast numerous of its cast members in guest roles?

I'll definitely be tuning in for S3.

Well, it seems that not many of us watch the show... But it's still a great one!

Little bump... surely there are more fans of this show on TrekBBS? What do we think of the most recent... um... shall we say, "Development"? Spoiler code might be required for those who haven't seen it :)

I don't watch the show, but hot damn half the people I know on Facebook spoiled it within minutes of last night's episode ending.

I wish CBS would just dump the Amazing Race so I don't fall asleep and miss most of The Good Wife when it starts late. :/

But backtracking an episode or two, is Cary devious enough to not get snookered by Kalinda? She's definitely capable of it, if she hasn't let her guard down.

I think he got snookered so hard that he figured out that he liked it when they left LG.

But he gave as good as he got with that fake text, and that's when they figured out they were meant for each other.

I got hooked on the show myself. Just finished catching up the last 4 seasons.
IMO, very well written and I love the acting.

I love the show. It's a great mix of humor and drama, with a fantastic cast. I've enjoyed the rivalry between the two firms this season.

I haven't seen last night's episode (nor have I scrolled all the way up in this thread, just in case), but I know something big happened since my sister called me and said "Did you see what happened on The Good Wife last night!?" Fortunately, I've remained spoiler free so far but I'm looking forward to watching it tonight when I get the chance.

As far as I can tell nowhere in this thread is a warning for spoilers, so I'll keep last nights episode to myself.

I do like the show though, it's better than most lawyer shows out there. And I like that it's not just about the cases but also about the characters. In this day and age that's rare on a lawyer show.

I've seen the episode now. Damn, I was not expecting that. When they showed the blond kid in the "previously on..." segment, I guessed what he was going to do, but I didn't think the end result would be permanent like that. Holy crap. That's really kind of a bummer, but it should make for some good drama in future episodes.

Blonde Kid?

8 years on Weeds and he's just some blonde kid?

"Hunter Parish".

You haven't seen Weeds?

You should see Weeds. :)

Yeah, I watched Weeds (well, the first four seasons, at least). I was just trying to be vague about who was in the episode so as not to be too spoilerish about the plot.

Anyway, my guess for future events on TGW:
Will's death will bring Alicia and Dianne back together to console each other, and this will eventually lead to Alicia's (and possibly Cary's) return to Lockhart/Gardner as the new named partner(s) to fill Will's spot, with the firm reabsorbing Florrick/Agos and all their clients and attorneys.

I think this is foreshadowed with the dialogue about Dianne and Michael J. Fox "not being Will Gardner"; ie. a challenge of her ability to take Will's spot as managing partner, and with Alicia remarking about how astonishing it was that they actually succeeded in building their own firm, which suggests that now that she knows she could do it, she might feel content to rejoin LG if offered. The coming soon scenes were deliberately vague about rhe status of the firm(s) with the exception of Alicia and Dianne reconciling after Will's death.

That's too nice.

I see David lee organizing a hostile take of Florrik Argos, or I see Will's Will being out of date and leaving his shares to Alicia.

Oh god.

How long have they been planning this? Because Jason O'Mara seems like a different enough character as to not be an insulting carbon copy of Will, while still being interesting and hot enough to be the new male lead... Not that there really is a male lead.

Although I just about insist to god that there needs to be an Elsbeth Tascioni spinoff... And I wouldn't mind seeing her on Person of Interest again either.

Yeah, Carrie Preston is great. I'd love to see her get her own show for her Elsbeth character. She's been very popular all over TV recently, on like four or five different shows I watch, so she would be a good choice to get her own series. Hopefully she can still appear on PoI with her husband Michael Emerson occasionally.
