The good things thread

hey Australis! *hugs* Long time no see! Awesome isn't exactly the first word that came to my mind. My first one was "cute!!"
*hugs* Good to see you! :)

Why I think that's awesome: In front of the portrait of Abraham Lincoln... the first black president holds a black child.

...
Where should I send him? But make sure he's home tonight. :)
I'm in Bavaria. Unless you happen to live in Europe it'll be a problem to return him in time. Does he have a brother, by any chance?....

We are in the Brighton section of Boston, actually (less than 10 miles from all the action; walking distance to the capture, eek). And, sadly, he has no brother.

I'll see about daffodil pics when I go out walking today. I will be the woman stuffing a box with an old cable modem in it, into a too-small UPS pickup box opening. Should be good for the application of several colorful idioms. ;)

Saw a male cardinal outside the front window a few days ago. They mate for life and I did not see his missus, so I think he was on the make. I had no idea the roof of my porch was a pickup joint for birds.

I've fully moved into a beautiful new apartment rental with a short commute to work, and I'm getting married soon. :techman:
Congrats! No doubt about it, a happy time for your and your fiance. Treasure it!!

I came home last night after being away for a few days. My neighbors had already gone to sleep and one of their cats was outside. She knows me and came over meowing, looking for some comforting. Gave her a good long 10 minute scratch-n-rub while she purred like a lawn mower, and it definitely seemed to lighten her mood. I felt good too... love animals, especially when they warm up to me. :)

Daffodil pics! I am a lousy photographer and a rather Darwinian gardener.

Daughter had her 6th birthday party last night. Friends, family, booze and putting together a Barbie dream house. Good times.

Atlanta Braves double header awaits me today after I get off work.

Wow. Up here in Mass, we have to wait until our 21st birthday to get the booze. Lucky daughter of Use of Time!

 What can I say, I'm the coolest dad in town. The booze was for me and my brother while we while we put together this 8,000 piece dollhouse. Its like a dad right of passage.

Good things? Well, I just got this and thought I'd share. Got an email from the University with marks from an assignment I completed a couple of weeks back. I was tentative opening the email, but did so. Read:

"100 % (The class average was 89% )
A+

You are ranked 1 out of a class of 82"

I tell ya, with another big exam tonight, it's put me in high spirits. Woop woop! :D

More importantly, where do you live? and is he single? or can I come over just to watch?
1 hour drive from MUC airport. You're welcome to stay with me for a bit. Or I could try to take a photo of him next time he's out in the sun (today it's rainy, though). If you're in LA, I could arrange a meeting, occasionally. He goes there once a year on business. And he's single :)
I have no idea where that is, but I haven't been to the West Coast in years. Taking care of Mom keeps me close to home in rural North Carolina. I love my little slice of heaven in the country.:techman:

I'm a little bit off the west coast, I'm afraid. About 6000 miles east of Greensboro NC :D

Congrats, StarMan! Awesome result!
