So it premiered last night, & then it went up on NBC's streaming service today, which is where I'll be watching it, while very much appreciating there still being some shows that continue to be streamed without you having to pay for another stupid platform, because you watch one show on their network.
Anyhow, I liked it. A couple interesting twists. I gotta say, & it isn't much of a spoiler, because they did a bit to set her up last season, but I wonder about Simone, not so much about the current dilemma they're in with her, but about the eventual dilemma that no one has thought about yet, which is that, at her core, she really isn't that bad of a person, from what we know of her. She doesn't really need to improve all that much imho. She's already a much better person than any of our main four were, when they 1st came there.
In that way, maybe she's the most pernicious challenge of them all, sending them a person who honestly wasn't that bad to begin with, & was doomed to go to the bad place, mostly because the system is set up to favor people failing. That's going to make the improving her part very hard, & could lower the bell curve, so to speak. I mean, with the other people we're seeing them tackle, there is a LOT of room for improvement, assuming they can get through to them & begin doing so... but with Simone? She should already be in the good place, imho.
To date, what's the worst you could say about her? She's apparently an Atheist? That actually shouldn't factor in all that much, because it's not about what you believe, but about the intrinsic value of your actions, which seem like they were mostly good
This all assumes we're going headlong into this experiment, without it getting turned on its ear, which is very likely to happen, given how quickly the last experiment went off the rails, with the reboot at the beginning of season 2. This may go a whole different direction still
