The Future of Automobiles...

it makes a better aston than that hideous little toyota with an aston front end they did

I remember that, the Signet I think it was called. So sad. :guffaw:

Adding another car to the "Pretty Car List", the Mercedes CLS-class. Sexy car.

I should make a thread for pretty cars... have people post up their favorites...

Well I'll grant you that the car that most of the world knows as the Mondeo might have some similiarites to an Aston. It'll be what the Mk V version of the Mondeo.

Looking it up, yeah, it will be the Mark 5. One of my mates had a 2 until recently, but I didn't realize it was quite as old as that.

Talking about Astons, I do quite fancy one myself and saw a second hand Virage at one of the local car supermarkets back in 98. I certainly couldn't have afforded it, but it would have been a laugh to arrive at work one day driving that rather than the Vauxhall Chevette I was in the process of replacing.

Yeah, the Mondeo came out in what 92, so it's been around as a name for 20 years. Has it really been that long.

At least by centralizing where the "power" is produced you can improve the clean efficiency through economies of scale in the short term and by replacing dirty plants with clean in the long term. Or would you rather just keep millions of ICE's on the road?

But thats just it. What defines "clean" power? And yes i would rather keep my super clean ICE.

No electric cars or cars loaded with pointless distractions/idiot-centric driver aids for me, thanks. Give me a roaring V8, a nice light chassis, and suspension that puts function over comfort, and I'm happy.

"Idiot-centric" driver aids make the roads safer for everybody, and not everybody likes sports chassis.

You gotta think about the general public when building cars (or indeed any product).

What to you class as a pointless driver aids just out of interest?

Another big fan of the ICE here.

The Tesla is quite pricey for the average consumer, but I will say that I am a huge fan of the Chevy Volt, much to the chagrin of my family and friends. The Volt is also a bit pricey for what it is, admittedly, but it's cheaper than a Tesla. If I could afford a Volt right now, I'd buy one. I'm actually planning to test-drive one (a Volt) in the near future, for the purposes of doing a review of it on my Facebook page. When I write my review, I'll also post it on this site.

I've always wanted to try something like that!
