THE FORCE UNLEASHED - discussion

Still having a lot of fun with it. Working my way through Felucia. Having to experiment with the force powers to get through some the situations.

I just finished getting my 1000/1000 gamerscore in this game. It was fun while it lasted, but I doubt I'll play it again.

I've gotten 41/47 achievements so far.
I started a game on Sith Lord and I'm at the Red faced chick battle.
Dunno if I'm gonna get all the Achievements as some of those moves are very uninteresting. Let alone to get 500 kills with them. I guess we'll see.

I'm still having fun my second go around though.

Sold mine for only 5 quid less than I paid for it, spent the money on Jack Daniels.

So far the drink is proving far more entertaining, and much less frustrating.

Eh, it's not too bad to go through and game to get all the kills with the different moves. I played through the game twice on Sith Warrior to get all the Holorcons and both endings. By the end of both playthroughs I had most of the "kill 500 enemies using X move" achievements. After that I just replayed the TIE factory until I got the rest.

Lighting shield may seem pointless at first, but once you upgrade it to level 3 and charge it fully, it cuts through weaker enemies like nothing. Simple charge it up and hop through a group of enemies and it kills them all in short order. In fact, the only one that kills faster is Force Repulse.

What about the grapple move and Aerial Ambush juggle combos?
What are they?

Rented it and my wife said, "Hey, let me try." Had to go buy a copy after that-she won't put it down.

Completed the story at the weekend. Not really an achievment whore so that's kinda it for me. It was really fun though, despite some utterly frustrating bits. The Star Destroyer took the utter piss.

Oh, and the story is fantastic, and a far more worthy entry into the Star Wars canon than any of the fucking prequel movies.

^
The Star Destroyer part is quite a disappointment, really. I don't understand why they couldn't come up with a better way to realize this. In fact, a cut scene would probably have been more satisfying since you identify enough with the character at that point to feel just a little bit awesome for bringing down a Star Destroyer :D.

But then I suppose they kind of locked themselves in a corner by using this scene as promo and basically promising players would be able to take down Star Destroyers.

Going to be playing this on the Wii if I play at all...I've been really disillusioned with the negative reviews that came out, but being a SW fan as I am, it deserves a playthrough.

Then why would you play it on the Wii? :wtf:

Those are actually kind of fun to do. You simply push either "YB" simultaneously or "XA" simultaneously. You grab your opponent and launch them into the air. "YB" is a grapple, and kills weaker enemies in one hit.

"XA" starts an aerial combo. You just hit those two buttons until the grab animation plays, then hit "X" or any of the other "aerial combos" to finish the move. It kills stronger Stormtroopers in one hit...

I'll give'em a shot, thanks

Bumping this thread because I just noticed on xbox LIVE there's a new mission release on DLC, the standard of 800 points. I think it's new because this is the first I've seen of it. I also didn't know they had character packs to download, but I'm not spending money on that.

I downloaded the new content, but haven't played it yet.

Thought I'd post this if anyone else was interested or if they've played it.

Started it a few days ago and finished it but will probably play a bit more to get a few extra achievements but won't bother getting all I never do. I won't bother playing the SP through again because despite a very good story, I just didn't enjoy the general gameplay enough. I'll probably end up giving the game 8.0 score when I get round to doing a review on Gamespot but while on a techinal level, its easily the best Star Wars game to date...not the most enjoyable.

Jedi Academy (8.0) & Battlefront 1 (7.5), were more enjoyable in my opinion, hell I might even put EP 3 video game in that too. It was decent but something about Force Unleashed just don't fill me with great joy when playing it.

I prefer great saber battles over Force battles I guess.
