The fleet was holograms?

I was trying to see your point of view but ok...

I've been wondering why SF didn't leave a ship or two behind as protection, and I wasn't even considering Riker's fleet were holo-ships. Mainly because, Romulans, especially Tal-Shiar.

The scene was a bit TNG, all wrapped up in a nice bow. Romulans go home, Starfleet goes home, nobody bothers the synths again.

Picard literally dies right after they leave. Would've been nice to have a working sickbay around.
Hmmm...I wonder about that though. The La Sirena is kept at "Starfleet standards" according to dialog, and Juranti is an MD in addition to her cybernetics training. So, what could be done in a sickbay vs. what they had available to them at the moment?

I kind of found it funny that it so TNG an ending. Rather enjoyable bit on that one.

I'm sure they left a ship or two patrolling the Ghulion system. They don't have to be in orbit around Coppelius

Exactly......there was no support needed, no need to write a whole new chapter. I am fairly sure the Federation scanned to make sure the Rommies weren't hiding behind a moon right around the corner.

Yes, because the Federation could always detect cloaked Romulan vessels.
Besides, I was referring to offering support to those on the planet.

They had a working sickbay on the La Sirena, along with an EMH and a medical doctor (Agnes). Sending Picard over to a larger sickbay with a few more doctors and nurses wouldn't have changed anything.

Both fleets were ridiculously huge. Maybe they were both using holograms/sensor echos/whatever.

I have to wonder if Riker's fleet was mostly holograms to fool the Tal Shiar. He shows up with a bunch of identical ships (easier to copy and paste) and as soon as the Romulans leave he heads back home. All those alleged ships he had and yet he couldn't leave some of them for support? Didn't make much sense.

I certainly hope that crappy ship is just a hologram. Ive seen better designs on the Trek Art forum here. Maybe Riker was actually in Captain Crandalls ship, and Crandall also has a Magic HandWavi-o-meter like Jurati.

Most likely they were all identical for the same reason they were buying stock footage on Shutterstock. To save money.

Bit difficult when the head of the Tal Shiar fleet is the Starfleet head of Intelligence. They would have a good understanding of Starfleet's capabilities...
Security, not Intelligence. The chief of Police might not know that much about military craft.

Why would he have not told Picard they were just a bunch of holographic ships, if that’s what they really were?
Cause Oh might have listened in.

Is this theory also brought to you by the pe0ple @ Rios Is a Hologram ! ?
How did that one pan out?
So far no confirmation either way.

And also.... the dimension breaching MonstroMechTentacle was a hologram created and projected by the synths, to trick everyone into lifting the ban.

And also #1Dogo and #2 Spot are holograms, ... and you're all holograms too!

But Picard didn't tell Riker he was dying. So Riker had no reason to stay.

Here's the thing: The entire group of synths seemed to be located in that one building. So unless there were tons more all around the planet that weren't mentioned, then why did Oh even need a fleet of 218 ships? All she had to do was destroy the building from orbit using her own ship.

Cause Oh might have listened in.

Oh was gone by then.

I'll do you one better. What if everything that happened is part of an elaborate digital simulation meant for an audience of millions, and this Picard fellow is not even a real person?

La Sirena's holo-duplicate trick was always a temporary solution that would be discovered as soon as the Romulans opened fire and the duplicate ships didn't react, or they were subjected to a detailed sensor scan. If the Federation fleet tried the same thing while escorting the Romulans out of the area they would have been discovered in moments and the Romulans could just turn around and attack the Synths again.

Perhaps the Federation underwent a crash program to rebuild the fleet after the attack on the Utopia Planitia Shipyards, and made a bunch of modular, prefabricated ships with exchangeable parts for ease of repair instead of several different classes of ship. That's why they almost all looked the same or similar.

Obviously out-of-universe, it was simply a time and cost-saving measure, much like the reuse of the Disco-era ship in the shipyards.

That does make a lot of sense, although I'm still stymied as to how fast Riker got that huge fleet together.

Oh didn't know that before they arrived at the planet though. The amount of ships is likely due to them being prepared for a planet full of synths with greater defenses.
