The Flash - Season 1

They keep calling him Barry and PP could hear the signal. LOL!

ETA: They really need to call him Flash going forward over the communication.

It bugged me that they imprisoned Pied Piper in the Pipeline instead of turning him over to the cops. The idea behind the Pipeline is that it's the only way to contain metahumans that the police can't cope with. But Rathaway's just a guy using tech. As near as I can figure, the only reason they didn't turn him over to the cops is because he knew they were working with the Flash and they didn't want him to reveal that. Which makes their use of the Pipeline in this case even more ethically questionable than it is normally. Also, the cops were there at the scene, so you'd think they'd be upset about the Flash spiriting the bad guy away.
Exactly, I was about to write just this and saw your post in time. :)

And also the group photo? Barry couldn't have just changed to his civies in a flash? You just know this photo is going to come back to haunt them. Why does Barry even bother with secret identity? He's not protecting Iris or anyone else if they keep blabbing his name over the air. Encryption didn't protect them this time, they can't depend on it in the future.

But more to the point, they should be thinking about this all the time. If they aren't, then slip ups will be made.

I didn't enjoy the episode at all really. The reverse-Flash reveals weren't enough to make up for the bland over-acting bad guy, silly indiscretions with Barry's identity, tracking down Star Labs as the HQ using the same method used on Arrow a few weeks ago, and the illegal imprisonment angle. Usually this is one of my favourite shows but it really did nothing for me this week.

He's sucking speed force out of the Reverse Flash costume and pumping it into himself.

Isn't that implying that he isn't the speedster zipping about soaking the suit in speedforce?

Besides it's a tachyon device.

Speed = Time.

Actually, now that we know he really is crippled and mostly powerless on his own, that almost definitely marks him as Hunter Zolomon.

He wasn't crippled before the reactor "accident".

Walking around for 10 years no problem, with or without usable Reverse Flash powers, unless that means that he didn't have Reverse Flash powers before the explosion that created all the rest of the metahumans?

And if levelling up was part of his plan, other than being told what to do by a future version of himself, or reading his own biography in the Flash Museum, how would he have been so sure that he was going to get Speed when the super powers fairy was handing out super powers?

Oh?

What if Hank's own reverse speed force powers had been (part of) the real source of the lightning that transformed Barry? And that is why he is so frakked up, because he gave half his speed to Barry? But if he hadn't done that, Harrison would have paradoxed out and the universe would have unwound.

What a humanitarian?

I still think that there are multiple versions of the Reverse Flash in play, even if they are all Harrison Wells at different points in his timeline because we are not viewing his adventures linearally.

Ooh, the Royal Flush Gang. A throwaway appearance, and no hint of a link to the iteration that's already appeared on Arrow. They seem to have traded hockey masks for bike helmets this time. Mind you, if their Ace is an Android he'd fit in well in Central City at this point.

Overall better than the last week where the lack of Barry's forethought to simply disarm the guys pulled me right out of the narrative, he actually does so this week and STILL has a tough time defeating the Piper. The sudden "I've always been able to do this" presentation of Wells' powers worked great, but I would've thought Mr. Forensic CSI Guy would also have noticed how Wells was not injured by all the falling glass.

And for those eagle-eyed among us, Wells' house is a VERY frequently used location for rich evil people in Vancouver-based productions. X-Files, Highlander (twice!), Almost Human off the top of my head. Ditto for the Cleveland Dam this week, which is the ACTUAL Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver. Almost strange we haven't seen Simon Fraser University yet.

Along with the tachyon mention, yeah. But what if he actually is an original character and just connected to HZ in some way. Or what if, he found Zolomon's suit that was left in the past and has been using it all this time. The tachyon device could be malfunctioning because the suit is almost drained of energy. Hunter Zolomon may be showing up to reclaim it before the end of the season.

The one thing I can't get over is how ruthlessly Wells killed Mason earlier in the season though.

We don't know what the Flash Museum told Wells that Mason... wait, Simon Stagg?

The future is always a little different from second to second as perceived by Gideon.

Imperceptibility different unless to most minor changes less than Barry losing his powers and the Crisis destroying...

Barry and Kara both died in the Crisis and they are getting their own TV shows.

Who else died in the crisis?

This week's ep was a big improvement over last week's, with much better drama, though the big heartfelt Barry/Joe moment at the end felt awkwardly superfluous and redundant. And yeah, Christopher raises important points about their whole imprisoning scheme once more. Iris and her reporter-mentor should go after them!

Joe had a very nice moment, though, when he was the only one alarmed by Iris' full-time reporting job offer.

(Also: is anyone gonna sue Dr. Wells for, uh, reckless endangerment and manslaughter now?!)

A little more info on Vito D'Ambrosio upcoming appearance as Tony Bellows. Not going to give spoilers I am not sure how much people want to know. The few plot details are on other sites.

But some interesting behind the scenes details I learned through Facebook. Surreal to be messaging people who worked on a show I watched when I was 11 years old!

John Wesley Shipp first learned of Vito's appearance when Vito commented on Shipp's Wall. I asked Vito when he was first asked to appear. It was only one week before filming. I wonder if this was a late decision to cast him in particular. Its more than a cameo its central to the plot.

I personally messaged Danny Bilson who was co writer and producer of the 1990 series. I asked if him and Paul De Meo will receive royalties for creating Tony Bellows. He said its possible but they are not going to peruse it. But they would love to contribute to the new show though.

It's like Rex Harrison and James Mason had a baby.

He'll show up eventually, or did he show up and it was awful?

OOO!

(I liked the Judd Winick years.)

Metamorpho turned up on "The Batman" Saturday morning TV show.

This is a small version

And this is the dimensions that you expect from a toy

...

I don't collect toys, but sometimes I wish they were about a 10th the price so that I could justify cherry picking my favourites.

Metamorpho would be a great choice for a guest. I know we're getting Firestorm, sorry F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M., but it would be nice for Flash to have more allies.

Flash (the series) is probably building a justice League.

Although Metamorpho was in the Justice League, he's more thought of as an Outsider.

Katana is running around in Arrow, and they've mentioned Markovia more than once, it's where that Earth Quake machine came from.

Is Arrow building the Outsiders?

Doubtful.
