The Flash - Season 1

A little googling says that it was:

Fusion,
Ignition,
Research
Experiment and
Science of
Transmutation
Originating
RNA and
Molecular Structures

If their objective was to make SHIELD look a little less forced, they did a good job.

Somebody should tell them that acronyms occasionally throw in extra letters to make it work (e.g., CHiPs).

And honestly, shouldn't it be FIRESTORMS, then?

ETA: Curse you, C.A.P.T.A.I.N. C.R.A.I.G.!

I think it was unnecessary. i will be surprised if its actually ever spoken again. They gave an explanation and now will simply be called Firestorm.

I thought they did say what it stood for out loud? (Don't ask me what it was though.)

F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. stands for — Fusion, Ignition, Research Experiment and Science of Transmutation Originating RNA and Molecular Structures!

Although since it's plural maybe we'll get more than one, like the comics revealed is possible?

I guess I missed it. I wonder how long it took the writers to think of an acronym that actually fit the concept  Still, like others have said, its really forced. Hopefully the acronym thing doesn't go too crazy.

So there we see H.W. using his speed.

And I have to wonder if he has handicapped-accessible features installed in that house...because if he doesn't, the others should notice.

Oh, and R.O.Y.A.L. F.L.U.S.H. G.A.N.G. Not gonna try to figure that one out....

Looks like Wells has limits on using his speed.

Piper must have seen him walking when he attacked the house...so convenient that he doesn't blow the lid on that.

Back on the old Wells/Metron theory...that harness gives off a Fourth World vibe to me...reminds me of Orion's Astro-Harness.

I'm still banking on Wells being Eobard Thawne. It would easily explain the Reverse-Flash not harming Eddie. He doesnt want to negate his own existence by killing his own ancestor.

Also was this the first mention of the Speed Force on the show?

It bugged me that they imprisoned Pied Piper in the Pipeline instead of turning him over to the cops. The idea behind the Pipeline is that it's the only way to contain metahumans that the police can't cope with. But Rathaway's just a guy using tech. As near as I can figure, the only reason they didn't turn him over to the cops is because he knew they were working with the Flash and they didn't want him to reveal that. Which makes their use of the Pipeline in this case even more ethically questionable than it is normally. Also, the cops were there at the scene, so you'd think they'd be upset about the Flash spiriting the bad guy away.

So Wells actually DOES need the wheelchair..at least from time to time. Very interesting.

ANd nice Superman/Jimmy Olsen shout out -- "Cub Reporter"

ANd nice Superman/Jimmy Olsen shout out -- "Cub Reporter"

That's just the generic term for a novice in the industry. It's no more specific to Jimmy Olsen than "Professor" is to Charles Xavier. Although I did think of Perry White when she called her white-haired boss "Chief."

If Piper was gay, how come he didn't kiss any guy? :p He's different from the other villains, since he doesn't really have any powers.

Why is Piper in a metahuman cell if he is only human?

Does his above average intellect qualify him for their secret illegal jail?

I watch General Hospital daily so it was nice to see Roger Howarth on The Flash.

Pied Piper was boring to me. I think one reason they might have put him in the meta-jail is because they might feel responsible for him? & I also agree it might to be because he knows a lot of their info on The Flash. The other ones without powers were just criminals anyway.
