The Flash has turned into a kids show...

I really enjoyed Flash season 1, the second was good but nearly as and it's gone steadily down hill since. We had 3 speedsters in season 3 and that just stopped me taking it seriously.

Now with season 4 it seems like they've turned it into an over the top cheesy just for kids like show.

Personally I think reverse Flash wells should've remained his mentor the entire series, with the two of them tackling problems the way they did in series 1 - reverse Wells brought a lot to the show and his absence was extremely noticeable, they could've had other villans with the odd 'man in the yellow suit' episode thrown in here and there - with the two of them not battling till the very end.

Thoughts?

It's been turned into a comedy show. That's not the same thing. After the relative grimness of season 3 was poorly received, they decided to lean into the show's more upbeat, humorous side. Adults are allowed to have fun too.

I thought season 1 was shaky but showed potential. Season 2 was great at first and then took a total nose dive in quality. Season 3 was even worse, so I haven't bothered watching 4 at all.

You're not missing anything, unless you like goofy campy humour and cheesy one liners.

This discussion couldn't have been done in the actual show thread? I don't see the point of a separate thread personally.

Methinks you really haven't watched the other seasons too closely (and I enjoy the show at age 54 BTW and loved superhero comics back in childhood.) ;)

Reverse Flash = Eobard Thawn! Not Wells! Not Reverse Wells! Earth 1 Wells is D-E-A-D! Murdered by Thawn!

The show refuses to stop calling Thawn 'Wells'. We the audience must never forget! AAAAAAAAAAARGH! :D

Yes, I've noticed. It seems as if this happy, peppy Flash is some drastic response to the complaints about Season 3 being to "dark and angsty". I find myself wondering if Barry is on drugs or something.

It's a YA superhero show, I thought that was the point.

Then the current stable of MCU films must be for the YA genre as well.
