Just a quick glance at the first page of the TV and Media forum turned up nothing similar to this, so I figured I'd go ahead and create one thread where people can deposit their first impressions of movies, tv shows, etc. without creating a thread for each show that somebody sees for the first time.
I'm going to start this off with the End of Evangelion movie. Being a casual viewer of the TV series (casual by the standards of this show means you've seen every episode twice), I was rather fascinated with the idea of being able to make some sense of the ending. Unfortunately, while what actually happened still isn't totally clear
the character's emotions and motivations are a lot better explained. A solid movie for fans of the TV series (and Japanese animation in general), but absolutely nobody else should watch it.
