The Final Ongoing Star Trek Box Office Thread

Still kicking TransformerII's ass at my local IMAX.

For what that's worth.

Not much, admittedly.

Trying to figure out whether to see it today or tomorrow, or in a packed house Saturday...

I would love to see it in Imax one more time, but alas, I can't even find it in a normal theater out here.

I can't find it ANYWHERE around here anymore. It's gone. Period. And there's no IMAX screen in my city in spite of catcalls for one so I guess my three viewings will have to suffice until November.

The Imax so badass...even the Hubble Telescope has to take a quick peek downwards.

$26,187 for Tuesday August 25th. That's down 50.1% from last week, and 8.1% from Monday. This is the first time in over a month that the film's Tuesday gross was actually lower than that of the preceding Monday, so it's definitely starting to wind down now. Per screen average was $97, the first time it's been under $100.

Domestic total: $256,428,821.

It should be at 256,650,000 by Sunday even with these drops, so it should still make 257 unless the bottom just totally falls out this weekend.

Come on, 257!!!!!

Okay...now I'm just being greedy. I was excited when it passed 200, super-excited when it passed 225...and my wildest dreams were realized when it passed 250.....so I have nothing to complain about at all.

Yeah, none of us have anything to complain about, considering the already-impressive box office take. I guess it's just natural for us to want to see the movie reach one last milestone before it leaves theatres entirely.

Well, even if it doesn't quite reach $257 million, I'm sure we'll be able to round up! ;)

This is the first TREK movie to make more than RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK in this country. Even if it didn't make another cent at a single theater, it's earned its bragging rights. $256...or $257 million.

A bit of an upswing for Wednesday August 26th - $28,969. That's up 10.6% from Tuesday, and a rise in gross from a Tuesday to a Wednesday is fairly rare... Trek hasn't seen that since July.

Granted, it was still down 36.4% from last Wednesday, and the per screen average was only $107, but that's still the best it's done so far this week.

Domestic total: $256,457,790.

Now it'll be interesting to see the theater counts, as Star Trek's light flickers out.

Which it is doing at the IMAX too, it seems--I did go to see it last night after all, 35 people in attendance (15 at the Transformers2 showing that followed it).

The guy introducing the film said something about the last 5 days. Of course, if the thing does 100 people over from Fri-Sun, they may beg Paramount to keep it one more week.
