The Final Ongoing Star Trek Box Office Thread

Losing 198 theaters down to 307 venues...

Good news: My IMAX has it through August 2, and heaven help me, I'm off to see it "one last time" tonight for viewing... 12 I think.

Bless my wife and her understanding. Although it comes with a "quid pro quo" attached, undoubtedly.

I like those arrangements - I take it Mrs Borgminister will decide the "pro quo" at a time of her choosing? ;)

I am so jealous of you having an IMAX close that's still showing Trek :techman:

International Box Office: $125,696,368

Probably won't make much more, but that's a nice run.

Now, I'm off to bed to rest up for another day at Comic-Con.

After going with me 15 times or so, my husband already has his payback movie picked out. I don't even remember what the title is right now; but it's for sure I'm going to be in the theater at least once more in the near future.

I just asked him; it's "District 9," though he won't want to see it multiple times.

I am surprised it's losing 39% of it's theaters considering how well it's has done midweek. I guess the theaters made their bookings before they saw the numbers for the last few days.

According to the-numbers, a nice 19% jump to 120 K for Thursday, despite the drop in theater count.:techman:

Nice indeed, but the drop in theatre count didn't happen til today (Friday). Nevertheless, considering the drop from last Thursday, when it had 763 screens, to this Thursday, when it had 505 screens, it's still quite impressive that it took in $120,421, almost 11% more than what it took last Thursday.

Total domestic gross is now $253,580,933. I'll be interested to see what kind of a weekend it has.

Have you seen the trailer for District 9 it doesn't look too bad, you will have to give us your Trek style opinion once you see it, if you give it the thumbs up maybe I will see it myself.

Well since they really ripped the theaters away, I'd be surprised at 500 K.

Over 1000 bucks of that at least will have been made by the local IMAX, btw. 68 e-tickets sold, not counting walk-ins.

It says it's coming August 14, so it's coming pretty soon. I like cheerful stuff usually, and the trailer looks pretty tragic. But I'm not immune to a good, tragic story.

425 K for a total of 254 M, a 38% drop according to BO...

If anyone's still counting, that is... :p

I am! :D

Those figures are pretty much what one would expect at this point, I guess. Actually, if these numbers hold, its per screen average will be about the same as last weekend -- a smidgen better, in fact.

Another good weekend in spite of the theater drops. I still think it'll squeeze another million out of the box office before it closes.
