Ah, the "DS9 Friends" thread! I like it

Though I'm not on as much lately as I used to be, it's always nice to poke my head in here & see what's up with folks I know and see new additions. Good words by Vash & others above about how the DS9 Forum will continue. I agree; there was plenty activity here before the DVDs, and there will be afterward. It may not be as plentiful as it is now, but that's ok. We Niners haven't needed numerous masses to enjoy what we have anyway

I'm trying to get into B5 however, I want to rent it and can't find it to rent. Kev I see you have NetFlix is that a company I can rent it from? I hope so cause I want to check it out first before I decide to commit to buying it. Also, I would like to rent Alias too but, can't find that to rent either.

Hey Pale, just thought I'd reply to this question from earlier. I don't have NetFlix now, but I used to. As far as selection goes, I'm sure they have both B5 & Alias already. One thing I really liked about NetFlix is they have just about ANYTHING that's been put on DVD!! They'll prolly ship em to you one DVD out the set at a time, but at least you don't have to buy em! And you can have 3 DVDs at home at a time.

The reason I stopped using NetFlix is their shipping USED TO BE slow. I say USED TO BE cause when I was with them, they only had 1-2 distribution centers, and it would take a week or more to get another DVD. Since you have to pay monthly and I wasn't watching flicks & returning them daily, I felt it cost me more to do it that way then go down to Blockbuster. But now, NetFlix has GOBS of distribution centers, and I hear it only takes a couple of days to get new flicks. So I'm strongly considering it again.

I'd say look @ the montly rate, calculate how many DVDs you'd need to watch to make it cheaper than going to Blockbuster (or any local store), and consider those hard-to-find DVDs NetFlix has. It may be worth your while.

12 DAYS and counting to S7 release! I can't wait 'til that comes out. I'll feel a little happy and sad at the same time, but it'll definitely be worth a little sadness knowing I'll have DS9 on DVD forever!

The sad part about Season 7 coming so soon is that My Wife and I have only made it up to "Sons & Daughters" in season 6!

You think that's good? You obviously haven't read my status reports. I watched the entire season the weekend after I got it. 26 episodes in 48 hours. Ah, memories.

Think that's bad? I just finished season 4 about a week and a half ago.

I'll have to buy the rest when I get more moolah next semester. I'm sure those of you who pay Federal taxes are pleased to know that your money is going to help poor college students like me keep themselves in Star Trek.

Hey! I never thought of that! That's a really good excuse for me to justify to my parents why I'm buying DVD sets. That extra 14% tax (GST and PST) is going to finance my education!

I have made it up to the second ep of the 6 season.Plus I am watching the second season of 24 and I am only on the thrid ep of that.

I just ordered season 6 on Tuesday night. I had been waiting forever for my replay certificates to come in, and they finally did on Monday. Then when I went by on Tuesday, there were out of stock.



So I said to heck with the bonus disk and ordered it from Amazon.

So yall aren't the only ones behind.

Let's just say that certain DVD suppliers seem less worried about breaking street date when the recipient lives in Australia.

I frequently get stuff a week or so prior to actual release, but this is by far the earliest I've ever gotten something. Not that I'm complaining!

I popped disc 7 in at work today...had to stop it, because all the fond remembering the cast and crew do in the featurettes had me welling up a little.

The "End of an Era" one was great...I challenge anyone here not to laugh when they see Rene filming his "descent into the changeling sea" shot for WYLB. You'll see what I mean.
