'The Fifth Element' merchandise now available!

No naked Milla Jovovich action figure? Pass.

I would love to see more collectibles and action figures produced from The Fifth Element, which was a truly underrated science-fiction flick.

Why is this movie always one of the first three or four titles available on a new video format?

Seriously, it's a decent movie, wacky and fun but ... idk why it's the launch title for so many video formats.

The Fifth Element ... now in BETA-MAX!

No multi pass.:(

That would rule.

Because of the cool special effects and thumping surround sound. The first titles for new formats are supposed to be the ones you show off your systems to your friends, and, frankly, "When Harry Met Sally" isn't likely to be one of them.

The special effects aren't even that great. The hover-car chase scenes look like something from Frogger on the Saturn CD!

Even at the time the movie came out I thought the FX were crap. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough entertaining movie with some great action and set pieces to it, but it's just blah. It's Die Hard meets the Star Wars Prequels meets a Dime Bag meets a stroke.

Not a movie I greatly feel the need to "upgrade to" when a new format comes out. But, whatever, I suppose it has reached an ounce or two of cult status since its release on video.

There were some design elements I liked, but mostly I'm not fond of this movie. Chris Tucker's character is basically the sort of annoyance Jar Jar merely aspires to be.

Even when I saw this movie as a teenager I found Tucker's character to be too much. I didn't get the gimmick or what they were trying to do with him in it. Had the part been played... "more straight" I think the movie would be a bit better, but overall this movie for me is just a little goofy.

Agreed. I'd buy the "No Chris Tucker" version in a heartbeat.

I always saw him as a subversion of the screaming woman in distress stereotype in movies. The kind who trip over their heels when running, get caught by the bad guys, and faint when things get too intense.

Motherfracking Lords Of Kobol, all I said was that there's a new model kit diorama thing coming out based on the movie, and it gets blasted? It's just a reproduction of a scene (too bad the cars can't be seperated from the diorama and that there's no sounds from the police car, but still...)

It would be super-green! :D

This is one of my favorite movies, actually. If I was into buying lots of tie-in merchandise, I'd do it. I love this film. I'm just glad I got the *remastered* Blu-Ray version (the first version was crap).

And after all these years I still think of Zorg whenever Gary Oldman pops up.

He seemed to be channeling Zorg big time in "Eli."

Also I wish the soundtrack was still in print. iTunes doesn't even have it. But from what I hear, the soundtrack doesn't have my favorite bit - the song that plays when Korben Dallas is running from the cops and Leeloo's in the car with him.

"I only speak two languages, English and bad English!"

Willis was good in this movie, he made it worth watching.

But Chris Tucker :shudder:
