The fate of Cupcake (spoilers)

Kpnuts

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Although we didn't actually see him get killed on Kronos, it stands to reason that both the men who accompanied Kirk Spock and Uhura didn't make it back to the ship.

Poor Cupcake :weep:

If we go by the novelization (which can be a bit fuzzy at times), then Hendorff was killed by bat'leth.

If we go by the novelization (which can be a bit fuzzy at times), then Hendorff was killed by bat'leth.

And the novelization of Star Trek (2009) had Ayel killed by Nero for questioning the whole destroying the rest of the federation planets plan where as in the movie Kirk shoots him with his own disruptor during the attack on Earth.

So I'm not really trusting the novelization on this one.

A family of Trekkies was in front of us at the movie today (3D is AWESOME!!). We had a lively discussion about the fate of Cupcake. One swore he saw him back on the Enterprise, the rest of us weren't so sure.

Maybe he will be like Kelso... dead one time, alive the next. :mallory:

EDIT: The discussion was on the way back to our cars.

The writer, Roberto Orci, said on another website that "we didn't see Cupcake die"

I think the implication was that he could always be back in the next movie, even though an earlier script (upon which the novelization was based) might have called for his death

That's because the novelization was based on the script and not the final version of the film, which didn't exist when the novel was written.

I think that at least implies that Cupcake's death was written into the movie, and possibly even filmed, but didn't make it into the final cut of the movie for some reason.

I was sure we'd see one of those red shirts get disintegrated like Khan did to that one Klingon.

Didn't Cupcake save Kirk kinda?

Not to worry, the events of STID are merely a setup for the concluding chapter of this trilogy:
JJ-Trek III: The Search For Cupcake :D

Seeing that both Cupcake and the other guy were red shirt extras, I was thinking that they would die. But during the battle with the Klingons on the planet, we barely saw either of them being attacked. I don't think they died.

Pretty sure I saw him guarding Khan in the med bay.
