So does Riker get promoted to Admiral in this book?
That actually sounds really cool. I'm not ready to say goodbye to Titan yet though.
I'm just basing that question on this line in the synopsis:
Last I checked, between Picard and Riker, Picard was still the senior Captain, so it would be odd to see Picard taking orders from Riker at the Captain level, however, it would make sense if Riker was an Admiral. Or else someone at Simon & Schuster screwed up the copy on this book, and its suppose to be Picard ordering Riker.Riker must dispatch his closest friend, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, in a desperate attempt to uncover the truth.
Or perhaps we're being too literal minded. Perhaps by "dispatching" Picard, all they mean is that Riker realizes the Enterprise is in a better position to do what needs to be done and gets in contact with Picard to ask a favor. Besides, I'm sure with the fate of the Federation at stake, Picard's not going to quibble over which of them has seniority.
