Me too.I love the Excelsior class.
Ambassador class was uninspired as hell. bleh.
I love the Ambassador class, too.

Of course, the Connie & Connie Refit, now that was sheer beauty.

To me, the Intrepid class looks like the business end of a shovel.
It suffers from something a lot of fan-designed ships do, trying to be artistic and too "flowy" in its design.Yeah I've never understood the love for the galaxy class. It's fugly. A little body holding a big ol' Down's Syndrome looking saucer.
The "super runabout" design that was rejected (NCC-73602) would have worked for me:To me, the Intrepid class looks like the business end of a shovel.
My very reaction to the Voyager.
I think the Galaxy-class was appropriate to its time, but that time passed after only a few years, IMO.And don't get me started on that Stewie Griffin clone called the Galaxy class.
I agree with Xerxes1979 about Excelsior having that one best first-look beauty shot. That's why ILM filmed it at that very angle for the reveal. I like that design for its bold move to go in another direction design-wise. But yeah, it has a lot of ugly parts when seen from certain views. IMO the Constitution-class refit is the winner as far as beautiful/sexy goes.
