Knew the chef and was able to anticipate her demands and smugly say 'done'. Caught a few discrete

from the Chef when Boss was running around like a headless chicken.
Turned to Boss and asked if she'd checked we had enough cutlery? Where does the buffet table go? Are the plates washed, dried and counted? Are they eating inside or out? Do we have enough chairs outside? Are the condiments outside? We don't have any change in the till.
Basically decided to take charge, talked to the club secretary about what he wanted, blah blah blah... and all went smoothly. I love being 'front of house' and blaming the kitchen for mistakes ~ especially when you can smooze with them and make it up, then they just think you're brilliant
Did spend a lot of the time in the cellar 'sorting out the postmix' ~ otherwise called sitting in the corner with wine and Josh from the Gym

Who got a large plate of buffet food, as did Big Ryan ~ but he gives me free polos so that's ok. I just have this feeling that she is going to count the slices of meat that are missing
