While the CDC tries to deal with the captive's contagion, Martinez and Blake try to negotiate with Thomas. Meanwhile, Simon talks to Sophia about Thomas, and Collier closes in on Vicky and Carter.

Viewership has dwindled on this board and I might be done after this episode, so no more Event thread of that's the case. At least not from me.

Below Average

This show is already starting to annoy me like Heroes used to.

Why didn't whatsherface (I don't know most of their names) klll Tyson Ritter when he threatened to make her kid's face and address viral? Wouldn't that be an easier solution? If he's dead, her kid wouldn't go viral. Simple. She could have also told her partner on the roof to snipe them. That would have been even easier.

In fact, why not snipe them anyway? Why get them into the police station? There was no one around, it looked like the middle of the night...

And how would a picture of a kid go viral exactly? It's not a funny video or something. And what does it matter if a picture of her kid went viral?

Can we just make a season 1 thread now that it got picked up for a full season?

The show sucks, but I'll keep watching because I'm bored.

I was actually surprised Jason Ritter & Sarah Roemer were reunited this early. I figured they would drag that out much longer.

For all she knows, he could have someone else who could carry out the threat if something happens.

The right people, whoever they are, will see it like they usually do.

I think this episode sort of rules out the time travelers from Earth's future/'4400' angle. My personal theory had been that they were withholding what The Event was from modern humans because while it might be devastating to the people of Earth now, eventually a new human population would adapt and rise from the ashes better for it, becoming the 1% genetically altered humans like Sophia's group. So if they gave any hint about what The Event is that would be altering their future.

But Thomas made it clear that nuclear fission wouldn't have been mastered on our Earth without his assistance, which in and of itself isn't contradictory except then future Thomas should have known that nuclear fission was invented at this time because he had already done it in the past. If it's a changes in the timeline create an alternate universe sort of deal then they shouldn't care if The Event happens in this timeline or not, because their original future will be secure regardless. If I've got my time travel right.

We'll just leave out the fact that fission was first achieved in 1938 in Germany, and not 1944 in America, as a mistake on the part of the writers. The Manhattan Project was underway two years before Thomas could join it in 1944, and research in the US had begun as early as 1939 when Einstein encouraged Roosevelt that it was necessary to build an atomic weapon before the Germans. Maybe Thomas had delusions of grandeur and just gave them an assist on something they were already working on rather than inventing it himself.

I don't know why Thomas wants Sophia more than anyone else given only one choice. Perhaps there was a relationship originally that has gone sour in their decades apart, since he didn't seem to respect her or her orders too much. That or he wants to kill her to consolidate his power.

Sean and FBI Cat Lady are still the only elements in the show that are tolerable. The rest is warmed over cliche and hammy acting. Not sure how much longer I can hang in there. NBC must be desperate to give this garbage a full season order.
It's not even as good as FlashForward.
Yep - FF had more than two watchable characters. This is a train wreck.

I just don't understand wtf Jason Ritter's character has to do with any of this.

I don't understand what any of this has to do with Jason Ritter's character. :D I'm rooting for early cancellation so he has a shot at getting on a show that isn't an embarassment.

But assuming I manage to stick with this show long enough to find out, I figure Sean is the son of two of Sophia's group.

And their characters suck!

I like the preisdent storyline because he does with the "aliens" and that's what I care about. However his "we need to do the right thing" wife and the adviser guy who wants to kill everyone is just horrible.

I don't know we, or the 6.5 million other viewers are even bothering with it.

I stopped watching this show, but I just wanted to say, I love Sarah Roemer, she's pretty, when this show gets canceled I want to see her in something else.
