The Enterprise Music Video Thread - Post your videos!

We had a thread like this a while back, for people to post their music videos.

I'm hoping to have a fresh look at some older videos and perhaps see some new ones people have been working on.

So plug your vids if you have them. :)

ChristopherPike, I really like both of your videos. I like the editing of the title sequence, even though I'm not a fan of using Archer's theme as the opening. I like the theme, I just think it's too slow for that purpose. You make it work well though. I especially thought the ending was a nice touch. :) I liked the "promo" for season 5 too. Where is the music from that one? I can't quite place it but it sounds really familiar. Is it from the show?

HopefulRomantic: You already know I love "Blue Blue Sky". :) What you don't know is that the song grew on me enough that it was stuck in my head the other day for the longest time, with your video playing in the background. It's like an alternate Archer's theme in my head now. :)

Jaro Stun...whoa, I never heard that techno version of "Mad World." And "little crazy vid for teenagers" is a perfect description.

ChristopherPike, I enjoyed your Direct to DVD trailer very much. Liked the voiceover and credits in the title sequence, too.

lau, I think you captured some of the goofines of ANiS with the whole sleep deprivation thing, as well as the poignancy of Archer's worry over Porthos. :)

Thanks. I appreciate that a lot.

Cheers, boushh. It's actually Nemesis, but from the End Credits where it always gets overlooked. It's a shame because it could've added some much needed emotion to the film. Jerry Goldsmith did such a great job, I couldn't believe it didn't appear in the film proper. I'm pretty sure the theme was devoted to Data/B-4 but listening to it I always hear Star Trek. It gradually becomes a more sweeping score and I had planned to extend the trailer to include all that. This footage I never quite figured out how to finish: http://media.putfile.com/ENT-Trailer-Climax-Demo. Again, a few of the starship shots are a reuse of Skippy2K's CGI work.

Likewise your Blue Blue Skies video. You've certainly raised the bar for me with some flawless editing to the music. That must've took a while to piece together. It's got a great Archer-centric theme and reminds me of the wide-eyed earnest urge to explore that the character started off with. :)

Jaro Stun, I suspect you didn't mind putting in the overtime on that video! :D

Nice work on your video, lau. They were having a bad day weren't they! ANiS gets an unfair amount of flack really, especially given the huge amount of lighthearted nonsense TOS/TNG did. ;)

It might be good idea to ask if this thread can be pinned for while... If someone sees this and has just begun a project, it might be hard to find again later.

Thanks for the kind words. :) I agree, the song is a good fit for Archer.

I second the motion! Mods, would you please pin this thread?

I use Windows Movie Maker though I will be finding something better.

^ Windows Movie Maker is a great way to get started. It's the cost effective way to edit, blend and add text. I started with that. Check your computer first, since it often comes pre-installed with Windows XP.

These days I use Sony Vegas (with Nero to capture the actual media). It can get a little addictive to use. I got it at the offical Sony site, back when they were offering a free download version. If they still do it, expect a trial version which lasts around 21 days before you're asked to buy. There are other packages out there too I'm sure somebody can recommend.

I use Windows Movie Maker as well--first XP, now Vista. If you have Windows, it comes with the OS or can be DL'd for free from the Microsoft site, along with other foo that you might find fun or useful. (And Windows DVD Maker for Vista is pretty dang cool.)

Here's another music video I made. Trip/T'Pol, music by Steve Jablonsky from the soundtrack of "The Island."

Thanks for naming the piece of music for me! :) And the demo is amazing. Great work from both you and Skippy2K. Thanks for sharing. :)
