THE ENEMY WITHIN....transplanted "bad dog" scene?

Did they move the scene in the transporter room where Scotty shows Kirk and Spock the two dogs?

It didn't look right to me when I watched the episode, and then a bit later (after Janice makes her accusation) Kirk tells Spock he'd been in his quarters "since you left me".

I'd guess that refers to when Spock first checks on Kirk after McCoy tells him about the brandy, but Kirk and Spock were in the transporter room together after that.

Has the "bad dog" scene ALWAYS been shown out of sequence, or did it get moved in the recent broadcast?

It's where it always has been, remastered or not.

I cover the transposing of scenes in my review. Matheson wrote the script with the transporter scene properly as the end of act one. It was rearranged in editing, so Spock looks like a fool when he says there is an imposter onboard after going to the transporter room and finding out that doubles are being created.

See first link in my sig. A fellow at Youtube read my synopsis and cut the first act into the proper order. There's a link there now taking you to his video.

You know, I wonder how upset people would have gotten if they restored the original sequence of scenes in the TOSR version.

It plays out much better in the YouTube clip.

Some people would think of a reason to be upset if the sun were to rise in the east tomorrow morning.

I know it's heresay, but I wish they had fixed it.

People are mad as they can get anyway, why not fix an obvious editing error, that makes the smartest guy on the ship look like a total fool?

I also always had a feeling about 'Charlie X' as well.

It seems to me that AFTER they know for sure that Charlie is crazy and destructive, they just let the crew wander about the ship getting smited by Charlie's wrath.
Couldn't they at least have spread the message by word of mouth to stay out of the corridors unless absolutely necessary, lest Charlie take away your face!!

I think they broke up the 'Charlie lashes out' scenes and added them later in the aired version than they might have been in the script. I think they thought that the 'action scenes' of Charlie made the episode more exciting than him just lashing out once and then staying focused on the Charlie commandeers the ship stuff.

Sir Rhosis, am I correct in this? Did the script match exactly the aired version as far as Charlie transforming people or did they change the order on this one as well?

Thanks for the info!

No, I don't think they changed any ordering of scenes in that one. I usually catch things like that as I read the script along with the episode playing, and I don't recall it. There were several scenes cut, and I've noted them in my review, located on the same page as the others (first link in my sig).
