The ending of "The Sins of the Fathers"

I didnt think that this was a great episode by any means... somehow the drama between Worf and his brother lacked intensity for me, as did Picard's presence by Worf's side. All of it should have been more dramatic, I think.

I do, however, think it has a great ending, as all of the Klingons shame Worf in the stylized gestures of turning their backs against him and shunning him. And there's no bland coda restoring everything to perfect order--kudos for that!

I disagree in that I think this is a great episode, but I do agree that it was awesome that there was no reset button here, and this season and-a-half recurring storyline with Worf over TNG was a cool idea.

Its an awesome episode that starts off the whole Klingon civil war saga. Kurn's story is pretty decent considering the Worf-Kurn intro only lasts 1/3rd of the episode.

We never did find out if Duras or Gowron poisoned the Chancellor...some reason i thought it was Gowron.

It's an all-time great Klingon ep IMO. And it put some nuance in the Klingons, that despite talk of honour they can be underhanded when needs be.

I never understood discommendation though. I can't imagine anybody being literally erased from a culture lol..

I loved this episode. You really got a glimpse into Klingon culture.

I liked how at the end all the Klingons in that circle clenched their fists and turned their backs to Worf. And the closing shot is of Worf with Picard in the background...as if Picard and the Federation was his only family now.

The episode won Emmys for Stage and Lighting design. I'm sure there must have been nominations in other categories.

"Today is a good day to die and the day is not yet over." Man, is that cool or what ?????:klingon:

I think I have to agree with the OP on this one. I love Klingon episodes, but this one isn't my favorite. I never liked the Duras character and I think some of the later Klingon episodes were better than this one was.
