The End of X2: WTF?

I'd just like to note, that at the very end, the characters themselves question Jean's actions, and ask why she did what she did and that there must have been another way. Professor X simply says that she made a choice that she felt was right for her.

What about Bobby freezing the water?
I mentioned it earlier, but I'm just not convinced this would work. A huge body of water spilling out of a dam would have a lot of inertia behind it. Just because Bobby turned it to ice wouldn't mean it would suddenly stop hurling towards them.

He was the only one who could approach her because her love for him wouldn't allow her to go full Phoenix on him

At least Jean understood to never go full retard.
You never go full retard.

Plus, I'm not sure Bobby would have been capable of freezing it all at that point in his development. That was a lot of water.

After listening to the commentary from Singer, he notes that Nightcrawler not being allowed to teleport was representative of Jean not letting anyone on the team use their powers to help her. Regardless of whether there was another way out, that choice was Jean's alone.

Then of course Singer bailed on us to make a shitty Superman film, and some asshole who didn't even have the sense to make flaming Phoeinix effects fucked up the last X-film.

You speak Truth! The Truth, that shall set them free...

Since the Iceman we got in the first place was more of an Icewimp... :scream:

I think comics Bobby could have frozen it in place, or at least enough of it to create a barrier and hold back the rest of it.

This is more to the point, and quite true to Jean's character as presented in the comics, IMO - she would never allow another person to die to save her life. She's definitely the type to make the self-sacrifice decision.

Congratulations! You got the reference!
