On Bre’el IV, young Ele’er and her mother watch a segment of Illuminating the City of Light in which the host and her guests (the Bre’el member of the Federation Council, a reporter for a Bolian periodical, a retired Starfleet Admiral and a former policy advisor for 2 former Federation presidents) discuss President Bacco’s first 8 weeks in office.

he telepathic members of the Titan crew are bestricken by a telepathic cry for help. The Titan responds to find a group of Star Jellies under attack by a group of nomads using dead Star Jellies as ships. First Contact with the Pa’haquel (Qui’hibra’s fleet clan).

Titan sets course for the Vela OB2 Association, hoping to discover an entire ecosystem of cosmozoans.

Titan discovers a non-sentient Hoylian Black Cloud.

Titan discovers another non-sentient cosmozoan species (‘Sailseeds’).
Troi telepathically contacts the Star Jellies, with the other telepathic members of the crew acting as psionic amplifiers.
Meanwhile, Titan re-encounters Qui’hibra’s fleet clan, observing them combat energy beings in a nebula.
However the Jellies that Troi had contact then approach, causing a battle and resulting in Titan leaving the scene with a Star Jelly corpse.
Troi telepathically contacts the Star Jellies, with the other telepathic members of the crew acting as psionic amplifiers.
Meanwhile, Titan re-encounters Qui’hibra’s fleet clan, observing them combat energy beings in a nebula.
However the Jellies that Troi had contact then approach, causing a battle and resulting in Titan leaving the scene with a Star Jelly corpse.

Betazoid students Sephara and her eccentric roommate Gira watch a segment of ICL (Illuminating the City of Light), in which the situation regarding the Remans approaching Outpost 22 is discussed, prior to going shopping.

The Triexian member of the Federation Council, Artrin ne Yel, resigns as a result of information that he had ordered imprisoned a Chameloid 8 years earlier during a time of paranoia about the Founders.
President Bacco apologises to the Council about the chastisement about the trade agreement with Aligar.
An accident on the continent on Romulus that was given to the Remans inflames tensions.
The refugee ship arrives at Outpost 22. The Federation begins to try to negotiate with the Klingons about granting those Remans asylum.
The Carreon give the Deltans permission to use their water reclamation system in exchange for a scientific base on a Deltan planet.

Later, Qui’hibra attacks a Star Jelly school inbound to the breeding system.
The Star Jellies gain the knowledge to attack the Pa’haquel directly, due to Star Jelly influence on certain Titan crewmembers.

The Remans at Outpost 22 make a suicide run at the Outpost, destroying their ship and killing 3 Starfleet officers.
Qui’hibra informs Riker of the events of the past day (re: Pa’haquel crews being beamed into space, etc).
The Great Hounding happens, in which the Pa’haquel and their allies are unable to defend the Shalra world against a cosmozoan that they call the Harvester.
In the wake of the Hounding Qui’hibra explains to Riker the Pa’haquel role in maintaining the ecological balance in the Gum Nebula (and elsewhere).
