The doctor said I reduce my med dosage--YAY!

After my first year of law school, a professor advised me to go talk with a shrink--she suspected my lack of self-confidence had a physical cause. I had been working my entire life to "solve" this problem.

Sure enough, I was diagnosed with Dysthymia and put on Welbutrin. Three years and lots more effort on my part (and support from Hubby and family), and today the doctor said I should halve my dosage and we'd see in a month if I should stay like that, go back up, or go off it completely.

YAY!!

And, yes, I can tell a difference. I have self-confidence even if I don't know the results of the Bar exam for another 18 days.

The only bad part is my GP had to raise the thyroid med--seems I'm slowing down. Which I could also tell.

But still...yay!! That was my goal since I was put on it--to be well enough and strong enough to get off it.

That's really awesome news! I wouldn't worry about the thyroid med if I were you. If anything, it's good that your doctor is keeping an eye on it and is addressing the situation.

Hope you continue to do well! :)

That's great, but I wouldn't put too much importance on meds or dosage; some conditions require medicine permanently. As long as you feel healthy and happy, that's the important thing. :)

Yeah, that's the thyroid stuff. Without that, I sleep a lot, and walking up a flight of stair gets me winded.

I'm hoping to be able to get off the blood pressure meds sometime, but that's less likely since Dad got high blood pressure about this age, and "I am my father's daughter."
