After my first year of law school, a professor advised me to go talk with a shrink--she suspected my lack of self-confidence had a physical cause. I had been working my entire life to "solve" this problem.
Sure enough, I was diagnosed with Dysthymia and put on Welbutrin. Three years and lots more effort on my part (and support from Hubby and family), and today the doctor said I should halve my dosage and we'd see in a month if I should stay like that, go back up, or go off it completely.
YAY!!
And, yes, I can tell a difference. I have self-confidence even if I don't know the results of the Bar exam for another 18 days.
The only bad part is my GP had to raise the thyroid med--seems I'm slowing down. Which I could also tell.
But still...yay!! That was my goal since I was put on it--to be well enough and strong enough to get off it.
