The Doctor’s multiple talents

Re: The Doctor’s artistic talents

There are too many indications that the doctor already had his member by the beginning of Season 3.
The 4th episode in Season 3 'The Swarm' the doctor suddenly went off-line from many visible sub-routines and also the Swarm's influence. In an interlude, when the artificial Dr. Zimmerman is consulting Kes, his remarks touch the slanderous areas of the EMH anatomy and Kes must defend the dying EMH. There is no reason not to believe his member was acquired just when his aesthetics like opera and song came online. In this episode it was probably Kes's doing to make the doctor feel human. Perhaps the computer may override it but because of what one may gather in season 4 and 5, it stuck.

Firstly, thank you for calling it a "member." Personally, I prefer "throbbing rod of glorious majesty" but that doesn't seem to have caught on.

Secondly, I can't really see Kes being the one to provide the doc with his "appendage" since she's so naive and (annoyingly) sweet.

I always took it to be the case that the doctor added his own "utensil" or at least he got some help from B'Elanna who must have done it for a lark.

No, Zimmerman made him with one, a quite generous one. Because Zimmerman is an egotist and do you really think he would make a replica of himself with NO penis? Absolutely not.

Or he simply had one to begin with because I imagine that it's easier for the hologram computers to generate a human simulacrum using existing human features than it is to intentionally create a Ken version of one. There really isn't a reason to use such a lifelike simulacrum in the first place if you literally had to build every detail from scratch.

Does the Doctor have a belly button?

At least a facsimile thereof......

He strikes me as one for details. And if he has an ability to engage in sexual relations (message in a bottle) a balding head, and a once lazy eye, why not a belly button too

As a hologram he could grow himself hair if he wanted to. He doesn't strike me as too vain, thought. And he is not unattractive despite his balding head. Many women want more than just a full shock of hair....

It's a shame they did so many bald jokes considering TNG had spent so much time establishing that people in the future simply didn't care about such trivial things.

Oh well.

The Doctor being bald is really no problem. If he had a big belly, he could simply program it away. The Doctor doesn't need a gym. So his focus is on music, literature and romance.

I've thought that more than once on various topics. Still when you hold the show to today's standards it does look more progressive. Damn.

Do the Doctor's opera programs include Klingon opera?

I remember him singing this Klingon song with Seven....:klingon:

I'd like to see the EMH really knock one out of the park with a Rolling Stones number. You know, get out of his comfort zone.

Or a Queen song. The Show must go on..... Freddie Mercury had a classical voice after all. :)

Which talent is the most valuable/interesting and which talent would you like to be removed from his matrix by B’Elanna or Reg Barclay?
I loved his singing.

The trait - I won't refer to it as a talent - I'd like gone is his narcissism. Pride in his accomplishments is fine, but there's such a thing as overdoing it.

AND here is the clip from the con I was at.

There was no preamble, this was his intro to his talk :)
That's quite an intro! :)

Firstly, the horrific death of a child is NOT what it's like to have a God damn family. Secondly, it's a holographic family. There is no good and bad. There is only pretend.

Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!
You appear somewhat emotionally invested in this. :vulcan:

Are you seriously saying that nobody who has a real (as in human) family ever experiences the death of a child?

Does the flesh-and-blood partner have access to his subroutines?

We know Janeway wasn't happy with the size of her man, after all.

Wink, wink, nudge nudge.
She changed his height, education, and marital status.
