News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

That's probably because we're still getting used to Matt Vogel.
The trailer didn't totally blow me a while, but it does look like fun.

Certainly looks a lot better than the last show.

Vogel's Kermit is definitely off, which is strange considering his self-isolation video of Kermit performing "The Rainbow Connection" was pitch perfect.

The Fox Marvel movies are going to start making their way to Disney+ over the next couple months.
Marvel.com has an article covering the X-Men movies:
Friday, July 10: Days of Future Past
Friday, July 17: Apocalypse
Friday, August 7: X-Men
Friday, Sept. 4: The Wolverine
And according to IGN's list of everything coming to Disney+ in July, they will be adding the 2005 Fantastic Four movie on August 28.

The IGN article also says that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be added on August 14th, and Solo: A Star Wars Story will be coming July 10th.
Other genre additions for July:

July, 3:
Ice Age Collision Course

July, 17:
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! (Seasons 1-2)

July, 31:
Marvel Funko (Season 1-2)
Muppets Now - Episode 101 - Due Date

I don't know the ins and outs of the licensing but HBO MAX has had the X-titles so maybe they've transferred over to Disney now.

The Uk already has them all except Logan. Maybe one day.
I can guarantee you, there is no way Logan is ever going to be on Disney+. At least not the version we saw in theaters, I guess if there is enough demand for it, I could see them pulling a Splash and putting a censored version up.

There is no Hulu in the uk and so they might make a new, more mature section to put all their proper movies and shows.

In that case if want to stream their more adult stuff in the UK they'll probably let one of the other services get them, or just open up Hulu to other parts of the world.

Hulu started as a collaboration of OTA networks that don't exist everywhere in the world. It has since grown past that, so maybe expansion is now possible.

With the uk getting Frozen 2 and the is getting all the x men movies, the line up must be pretty similar now for both countries

Disney and the internet in general sure has been hyping up Hamilton, along with its summer movie nights. Its funny, because all the movies involved in the summer movie night thing are either movies I already own (the X-Men films, Fantastic Four 2005), films I don't care to ever watch (Hamilton, Alice Through the Looking Glass), or mediocre to garbage films (Solo, Ant Man & The Wasp, Incredibles 2). I think the only Summer Movie Night film I've seen and like but don't own is Pirates 5, which is actually pretty decent (and much better then 4).

My mom and I tried to watch Hamilton this morning, but it's almost impossible to understand the chorus with my TV's shitty speakers on the back. It's usually OK, but anytime you get more than two or three people singing at once, you can't understand a word they are singing. We'll probably try again another time with the subtitles on.

I think it’s easier to exactly copy a song singing the same musical notes and lyrics than speaking normally in an imitation of another person’s voice saying new lines. Similar to how many singers from other countries lose their accents when sing but not when they speak. They grew up hearing American music and only know how to sing that way. Speaking is more a everyday thing and harder to change.

I think some fans are too harsh on Matt Vogel. We have barely heard him in his brief time as Kermit do many full scenes yet. It’s going to be an adjustment for him and the audience.

Watch footage of Jim’s Kermit across the decades. He did not do it exactly the same. It actually radically changed. Part of it was likely due to age but clearly he modified his voice, changing the character for specific needs. I think hearing a carbon copy of Jim voice’s is going to feel phony. The overall performance and range is more important.

Yeah, when I went watched the first season of the original Muppet Show I was amazed just how different the characters all sounded. Even though it was all the same actors, they all drastically changed the way characters sounded just from the beginning of the first season to the end of the series and the movies.
