On the other hand, that's cool news too.You used the wrong link. That's an article about The Phantasm.

It should have whatever Disney actually owns the full rights to like the movies.I know we're getting a new Muppets series, but has anybody heard anything about the old series and movies?
Thus far, no genre series outside of SW and the MCU have been ordered or announced.Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I have no interest in the MCU - and little interest in Star Wars - is there any real reason to get Disney+ at all. I mean, do they have any legitimate science fiction shows which are under development?
Well, I don't know if it really counts, but they are doing a Monsters Inc. sequel series.Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I have no interest in the MCU - and little interest in Star Wars - is there any real reason to get Disney+ at all? Same here. Same reason I want CBS All Access.I'm planning on getting just as much for the preexisting stuff as I am for the new stuff.

It's also going to have pretty much the full library of Disney movies (probably excluding Song of the South), a ton of Fox movies, including Avatar, and shows from all of their TV networks and at least some from the Fox networks, including The Simpsons. So even if the stuff developed specifically for the service doesn't interest you, there could still be some older stuff on there that could make it worth it. I'm not really a "TV/movies guy." I'm a genre guy. I mean, I watched a fair amount of TV when I was younger. But these days, I don't have much interest in watching anything other than SF/fantasy. I have limited free time, and other interests, like reading, playing RPGs, shitposting on the internet, etc.
My ideal would be if the streaming services specialized. I'd subscribe to one for SF/Fantasy, and one for science/nature/history documentaries, and be done with it.
Amazon used to have something like that, but with all this other stuff, who knows now?My ideal would be if the streaming services specialized. I'd subscribe to one for SF/Fantasy, and one for science/nature/history documentaries, and be done with it.

I had wanted CBS All Access for a while, because I tend to fall behind on shows, and I was getting tired of CBS locking them out to non-All Access members before I got a chance to watch them. The Star Trek stuff was just the final motivation that convinced me to sign up for it.Same here. Same reason I want CBS All Access.
