Anyone been watching The Deuce? Impressions?
I think it's pretty great. The consistent quality in David Simon's work is incredible.

Yeah, I've watched the whole season. Some of it has already faded a bit in the past few weeks (my memory sucks), but I've largely enjoyed it. Great cast all around, both the Simon alums and the newcomers, particularly Maggie Gyllenhaal. After the typical Simon slow burn of this season, I look forward to the next season to see where things go for everyone.

Yeah, Gyllenhaal is a definite standout. Franco was good too, even though him playing twins where one is good and the other is bad sounds like the worst idea ever on paper.
Loved David Krumholtz as well, can't believe how fat he got, didn't recognise him for a couple of episodes.

It was a few years ago now, obviously, but his ice bucket challenge cracked me up.
