Oh, alright, I give...temporarily pretending to kill off a fictional character was a crime against humanity.
 
Heroism does not necessarily require the ultimate sacrifice.
It's not required...but it's very heroic.

And frequently wasteful, and in those instances not very heroic after all.

No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
