It's from Freaks, Tod Browning's sensitive early 1930s look into circus sideshow freaks and the people who exploit and abuse them. Part of the story is a non-freak woman who marries one of the freaks, and in a big showcase piece the freaks chant how we-accept-you we-accept-you one-of-us one-of-us gobble-gobble one-of-us.

It's a compelling watch, if for no other reason than its deep strangeness and quite some incredible footage of how the freaks go about daily life. I just recommend not watching it the way I saw it for the first time, which was somewhat late at night while I had a cold and was slightly woozy from the southeast Asian cold medicines I was taking. And worse deciding partway through that I just had to go to bed, and when I woke up -- since Turner Classic Movies's southeast Asian feed runs eight hours of footage three time a day -- finding the movie still playing at just about the same spot where I passed out. It couldn't have been more disorienting if I tried to upset my mental equilibrium.

Not according to here. Admittedly this is sourced from the on screen captioning but they say choice. The ear I have in the back of my brain also says choice. Specimen doesn't resonate. Choice does.
