Though technically one could argue April 6th due to a surprise public screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin Texas in 2009.

But even there you can see how 17/01 feels like a superficial marketing device of the day, not something with decades of history behind it, though at least that one doesn’t come with this side effect of hijacking a family member’s concealed birthday.

It comes from the official Star Trek Chronology, which uses the conjecture that Kirk was born on Shatner’s birthday, but that was never the intent for the Kelvin Timeline, where Kirk was born early according to Orci to account for it not being in Iowa (though in TVH we only learn he is “from” there). I’m sure Orci knew about March 22, having also used Okuda’s 2233.

I've heard that it's on a background graphic in Voyager's "Flashback" but never saw it, and it's definitely in the timeline graphic made for Enterprise's "In a Mirror, Darkly" but I'm not sure it's legible.
